6.5-milsestone-1 Works well, but 6.5-milestone-2 and 6.5-rc-1 fails both With same error Message:

Some strange behavior. In a computer used at my home office, this error does not appear, and I wonder why... (not the same project though, but I tested this by creating a new project at job office, and got the error). Will crosscheck.

Thanks for filing this ticket! As you mentioned "6.5-milsestone-1 Works well, but 6.5-milestone-2 and 6.5-rc-1 fails", this cause of this issue is that newer versions of Gradle adds additional checks for accessing environment variables at configuration time. The fix on android gradle plugin side is included in 4.1 C11. Could you try with AS 4.1 when it is available?

BTW: I have IntelliJ environment variables on my home office computer, (I have IntelliJ installed there), will this be a mitigating factor ?

BTW2: Creating new projects on the home office computer (which have IntelliJ installed) makes strange errors though (https://issuetracker.google.com/157676015). Firm office computer does not have IntelliJ installed, and does not have problems creating new projects, but have problems with Gradle 6.5-milestone-2 and 6.5-RC-1.

1. Not sure about the release of C11, but 4.1 beta 1 will be available on June 3 and it should also include the fix
2. This issue seems to only exist in AGP 4.1 C10 because we are in the process of migrating how we access environment variables, the change causing this issue was introduced a while ago but got fixed recently.
