The component looks great at the moment but having seen some demos with motion layout, it could really improve with some motion. Is there any planning to animate the transition between the flat and half_open state?

As an example constraintLaout's Foldable Experiments implement a smooth animation.

Component used: SlidingPaneLayout Version used: v1.2.0-alpha01 Devices/Android versions reproduced on: Samsung Z Fold 2

If this is a bug in the library, we would appreciate if you could attach:

Sample project to trigger the issue
A screenrecord or screenshots showing the issue (if UI related). ATTACHED

Actually, a multiplier of 8.67 gets me back to the approximate position it should be.
