Thanks for the report. I believe that this is fixed in our development branch, and also in the branch that will become Ladybug Feature Drop Beta. If you could verify that this doesn't happen in a nightly build (from https://developer.android.com/studio/nightly) that would be helpful -- and of course if you can trigger this in a recent nightly build, that's would be very important information.

Sorry, I have not tried it on the nightly build, but since then I updated to Meerkat and I have not seen the freeze afterwards.

That's good to hear. I think that the fix (which for reference was https://github.com/JetBrains/intellij-community/commit/fe621544dd61a9af34d97958d3d823a7c3454a87) is effective for both beta and canary branches.

For the record I am also arranging for https://github.com/JetBrains/intellij-community/commit/a444c8a500883669fc05c7177f93b5b794fdd13b (same fix, different implementation class) to be included; it's probably inactive code in our configurations, but it might be possible to trigger nevertheless.

Has anyone checked with KDE DE? Maybe Flatpak version is using KDE Framework Flatpak Dependency and it is working?

Any progress on the issue? It been present for more than 4 months, I would really love to just be able to run my emulator through terminal and not have to worry about this issue.

Sorry everyone. I almost use Android Emulator for my development only. So now I really need a hot fix for this one. Anyone has solution or alternative Emulator that can be used for development and having same function of create custom location route?

Thanks for your reports. It seems there was a breaking change to the Google Maps javascript API. We are working with the Google maps team on a fix. Thanks for your patience and sorry for the inconvenience.

We have submitted a server-side change that should fix the problem. Could you please reboot emulator and see if it's fixed?

Sorry. The map can be loaded now. But I can not simulate the location. I try to set Location and then I use the Google and press Get current location, but it cannot get the location I just set. Anyone has solution for this?

In mid-May, Google maps in the Android Emulator Extended Controls will NO LONGER WORK in emulator versions before 34.2.13. Please update your emulator to avoid this issue.
