DESCRIBE THE ISSUE IN DETAIL:

Opened my Android project in Android Studio Flamingo 2022.2.1. Canary 11. The project is using AGP 7.3.1. Gradle sync failed and AS showed this error popup:

Error message:

Project was built with Android Gradle Plugin (AGP) 7.3.1 but it is synced with .

Retried sync and it succeeded this time without error. Relaunching project to sync again did not cause the error again either.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

1. Open Android project in AS
2. Let IDE perform Gradle sync on its own
3. Sync fails
