The latest release of the Google Photos Library API includes a new "FeatureFilter" that you can use to filter media items that have been marked as favorites by the user.
You can find out more in the release notes:https://devsite.googleplex.com/photos/library/support/release-notes#2019-06-12
Also see the developer guide for more details on how the "FAVORITE" FeatureFilter is set:https://devsite.googleplex.com/photos/library/guides/apply-filters#item-features

Hi, I'm interested in using this new feature in my software, however, the links take me to a Moma internal server. Is the new documentation public yet?
Thanks,
giles.

Very cool. Access to Favorites will really be useful to users. One issue: Why is the call not honoring pageSize? I use a pageSize of 100 but the api always seems to return about 50 items per page instead.
Description
You can favorite photos now in Google Photos. We would like to request that you add a content filter for photos that have been favorited.
2) What is the purpose of this new feature?
Our assumption is that while many people have thousands of photos, they will have a small number of favorited photos that have some kind of special meaning and are tied to an important memory. We would like to help people further enrich or do more with these photos.
3) Please provide any additional information below.
Favoriting photos is subjective, it's not necessarily tied to more objective measures of photo quality. Having a way to quickly access these photos would enable us to offer a better UX on top of Google Photos and ideally further incentivize people to use the favoriting feature in Google Photos.
