I am working on an app in python that interfaces with google forms, sheets, and MyMaps. I need help integrating the google maps MyMaps portion. The basic idea is, a user will add a location and a tag through a google form, then the app would 'clean up' or standardize the tag/location, and add the point to a google maps MyMap. The user would then be able to see the new point on their phone through the google maps app, and the points that are added would be color coded by the tag. The MyMaps map should idealy still be editable through the google maps MyMaps interface, in case someone unfamiliar with coding needs to change/share the map.

Currently, I have the app clean up the google forms inputs and organize them in an easy to import format for google maps. Then I will add a new layer, import the data by hand, and delete the previous layer. I understand that the layers do not update when the sheet that the data was imported from is updated.

Is there a way (through an API) that I haven't found yet to add a new layer to a google maps MyMap, import the location data from a column in a google sheet into it, and format the style of the points based on a column in the google sheet? If not, then I would like a feature that could enable this to be added.
