It would ideally reuse the variable names in the template for the string resource placeholders names (except if used multiple times or if an expression that is not a variable).

Reproducible with Android Studio 3.5.1 on Mac OS. Stack trace attached.

BTW, how to get similar stack trace in AS 3.6? By default it is not shown, and link to rerun task with --stacktrace flag does not reproduce the issue (probably because this command does not include running/profiling the app).

It's in our Android Studio 4.2 Canary 1 which can be found here: https://developer.android.com/studio/preview/. It will also be included in our next 4.1 Beta release (the next one after 4.1 Beta 1).
