Hello guys, is anyone still working on this?

This problem is still very valid and surprised to see there is no movement on this topic (searched other places in www too - see links below). Is it too difficult to implement a feature which combines individual accelerometer data combined with crowd sourced gps data - example, in a 1 km stretch of road that is part of alternative divergent routes from a point, if there is fewer vehicles plying on it (gaps between vehicles / lesser density of gps signals?) and there are high fluctuations in height of the device a.k.a. jerks (sourced from accelerometer integrated with the maps application?) and more zig-zagging - then it is categorised with a different colour signifying a potentially bad road. In India depending on various factors there are drivers who would prefer a quicker overall route even if it is riddled with bad roads, or a more time consuming but smoother route (various factors like general driving preference, commercial/non-commercial vehicle, vehicle carrying babies or other sensitive passengers) and such a feature will be extremely valuable.
Users can also be given an option to report the correctness of such categorisation.
Am I just dreaming or is it too difficult to achieve.
Today it just shows a yellow colour based on the average speed on the road (I believe) however it is never clear if that is due to current traffic conditions or is it because of the road being bad.
