I have additional informations to add to an issue/bug I have previously reported (Issue ID140002461) about Android auto not working well on my Pixel 2 XL, I cannot add it directly on the issue itself because the comment section is greyed out, so I am sending it here.

I have tried using my old Pixel and android auto worked just fine with the car radio unit. I tried the Pixel in another car on a different car radio unit, worked also just fine. My actual phone (Pixel 2 XL) didn't work in any of the two car radio units. So the problem might not be the car radio unit, but more likely the phone or the android version on the phone. I thought I'd let you know if this can help in any way.
