Currently, as soon as external transforms as registered, we avoid using artifact transforms pipeline for dexing. However, these transforms may not run for the current variant. We should check if there are external transforms that will run, and only in that case, dex everything in a task.

This is only in 4.0 branch, so 3.6 will not have it. As a workaround in 3.6 you can avoid applying the plugins that add transforms (e.g. Firebase).
