Tested using Gradle 6.1-20191213003423+0000 and a local build of AGP 4.0.0-dev built Today 2019-12-11 on a minimal Studio generated Android app build.

Marked as fixed.

This will be fixed in 4.2.0-alpha05. Device test task is compatible with configuration caching if running "connectedCheck". If using a custom device provider, we cannot store it as part of the task state, so in that scenario task is not compatible.
