What you would like to accomplish:

integration between postgres and elasticsearch.

How this might work:

ZomboDB (

https://github.com/zombodb/zombodb) is a postgres extension that allows you to create indexes for postgres tables on a remote elasticsearch cluster.

If applicable, reasons why alternative solutions are not sufficient:

Postgres' own full-text search facilities lack some of the features of elasticsearch, so they are not suitable for all use cases.

+1 to voting for the ip4r extension. Currently not supported in Cloud SQL and we make use of it.

+1, or another solution that would allow for using elasticsearch with postgres in cloud SQL.
