From a fresh 4.0 master build as of today:

I updated santa tracker to build with the latest version of 4.0 (a snapshot build), and then I ran ./gradlew lintDebug on it.

I spotted this error in the output:

WARNING: The option setting 'android.enableR8=true' is deprecated.null
It will be removed in a future version of the Android Gradle plugin.
You will no longer be able to disable R8

Notice the "deprecated.null" part. Probably a mistake in one of the error strings?
