When the error message below appears, it may be useful to to check whether the billing account attached to the project is in good standing, as it can prevent the use of Cloud Source Repositories:
send-pack: protocol error: bad band #69
fatal: the remote end hung up unexpectedly
fatal: the remote end hung up unexpectedly
error: failed to push some refs to '{git remote url}'

An internal request has been made to have a more informative message indicating that the issue is caused by the billing account's status, but there will be no ETA nor guarantee on the fulfillment of the request.

Hi, could you please share screen shots of the UI you refer? Currently in the Cloud Source Repositories UI, in the top you will find:

YourRepository > Branch > file

You have a drop down in Repository and in Branch to change anytime.
