Description
Studio Build: Version of Gradle Plugin: 4.0.0 Version of Gradle: 6.2 Version of Java: 1.8.0_242-release OS: macOS Mojave 10.14.6
Looks like after building the
.apk
in any flavor theoutput.json
file shows a wrongversionName
and ignores whatever is specified in thebuild.gradle
of the app module.Example:
then you go to the build folder and you see the
output.json
file containing this:Looks like it's ignoring whatever is entered in
versionName
and it's outputtingversionCode
as a string (surrounded by quotes) instead.Steps to Reproduce:
app/build.gradle
and set any value inversionName
./gradlew assemble
app/build/outputs/apk/debug/output.json
and verify the versionName is wrong and it's using the versionCode as a stringThe problem seems to be only in
output.json
, since the .apk itself has a properversionName
value when inspected with APK analyzer.
