There is a bug in NavController (line 1078): mBackStack.peekLast().getArguments().putAll(args);

When getArguments(). return null, NPE is thrown.

Basically this is a case when current (old) fragment was created without arguments, but new navigation event has bundle args.

Thanks for the detailed analysis. This may not be an issue anymore since we've started using Main.immediate there but I' not sure; I'll try to create a test case.
