Description
This will create a feature request which anybody can view and comment on.
Please describe your requested enhancement. Good feature requests will solve common problems or enable new use cases.
What you would like to accomplish: Avoid errors when downloading certain objects with invalid windows characters to windows machine.
How this might work: When downloading from GCS to windows machine, automatically convert invalid filename characters(such as a colon) with a valid character (maybe dash or underscore)
If applicable, reasons why alternative solutions are not sufficient: Right now, you will need to rename the objects with invalid characters to be able to download. Tedious process.
Other information (workarounds you have tried, documentation consulted, etc): IOError when trying to download a file with a colon. Colons are often included in object names for timestamps.
