Currently there is no cursor thumb displayed for a Compose TextField to be able to move the cursor position easily. It is available for EditText.

Actually, it exists partially, as it shows for selection when you long press the Compose TextField (shows a cursor thumb at start and end of the selection).

The feature request is to have a cursor thumb to adjust the scroll position with the following steps:

Tap somewhere on the text
The cursor shows with a cursor thumb below it.
User can drag the cursor thumb to adjust the position.

This is probably happening because there are multiple instances of DataStore active. You should consider managing the DataStore as a singleton. See the attached bug for more info.
