There is currently no way to add an arrow to polylines in Maps Static API. However, it is doable in Maps JavaScript API and here is a sample showing how: https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/symbols#arrows

Thanks for the update. There is no plan yet in adding the feature in Maps Static API but we can turn this issue into a feature request and we'll be reviewing this for further consideration. We also changed the title of this issue to reflect what the feature request is.
