Problem you have encountered:

AI Platform Unified returns the error message "BigQuery view is not supported" when trying to set a BigQuery view as data source in us-central1.

What you expected to happen:

Be able to set a BigQuery view as data source. According to the documentation [1] and the source option "Select a table or view from BigQuery" it's supported.

Steps to reproduce:

• Create a BigQuery table
• Create a view querying that table.
• Navigate to AI Platform (Unified) --> Datasets
• Create a new Tabular dataset
• Once created the dataset, select source "Select a table or view from BigQuery"
• In Analyze tab, click "Generate Statistics"
• The error message [2] is thrown.

[2] Statistics generation failed, please verify source and try again. BigQuery view is not supported.
