Same issue here with the Fossil Gen 5 and the Pixel 5.
Incredibly disappointing to have this sort of problem go on for so long, and because the Pixel 5 comes with a pretty up to date version of the Google app, it's impossible to downgrade it a version where it works again.
Please fix.

i ask the wear os google assistant to "play music" and i get the same error. I cant downgrade the google app, i have a pixel 5. It wont let me. Im stuck with a defective product..

Problem: "Sorry, I can’t do that anymore” when trying to do a call using Google assistant
This problem aside the one that can't use "OK, Google" to start the assistant is limiting much the watch, at least to me.
Purchased this watch to evaluate before buying some more units to the family.
But with all this thinking to return it and move away from Wear OS. Even more because I'm seeing the problems are reported with several months without any fix..
