It's the only app with intuitive and fast time controls. And it's a shame to see such beautiful design disappear.

Timely has been a very important tool for my productivity and mental health for a long time.
I easily loose track of time and yet my instinct is to think "that's important, I'll remember it". In the moment I don't even consider that I rarely succeed if I don't set reminders for it. Humans tend to follow the "path of least resistance". I have ADHD which I guess might make that fact a bigger obstacle for me than most. This makes me not want to pick up my phone and make tons of clicks and decide on a specific time for the reminder.
Timely is super useful because I can set an alarm or timer with an intuitive UI where I don't need to make a decision whether to write in 12:25 or 12:30. I can quickly estimate with great visual feedback and just by dragging my finger.
Also I use the 24 hour clock exclusively, we don't use AM/PM where I'm from and personally I never use analog watches. Most alarm apps are designed in Silicon Valley and for me feels better optimized for Americans who "think" in AM/PM.
Since Android 10 I've tried to use Googles own app and other 3rd party alternatives but it's just such a hassle for me. I've Googled "timely replacements" tons of times and a couple of months ago finally found that someone has made an .apk that actually works with Android 10+.
Well, not fully. All my battery opti. settings etc are set correct afaik but a few times the timer has not gone off.
Not sure why but..
If you made this open source, I'm sure people that like Timely as much as I do, and also can code, will make sure it works as well as it used to.

Timely was the most useful and beautiful app on Android ever. I can't believe someone decided to pull the plug. Please open source it!

Hello everyone, Unfortunately there are no plans at this time to open source the Timely source code as it involves quite a few non-trivial investments by me and the other founders.
We're investing that time currently in improving Android as a whole for all of it's billions of users.
Thank you for being passionate users of Timely for many years.

This is what is so terrible about Google: It keeps adding things to its portfolio only to neglect them down the road. Like a kid getting bored with its toys.

[#30 Ownership can get complex, it may not be so easy as that. E.g. finding and getting all author permission, did Google partially purchase it when they were hired, etc. Legally clearing code for release costs minimum time, often legal review which costs money, and who would pay for it?]

As mentioned previously, unfortunately we don't have any plans to open source Timely at this stage. Thank you to all of our amazing users.
lb...@gmail.com <lb...@gmail.com> #43
@42 But why? It doesn't have any secret stuff. It's an alarm clock app. Probably a lot was deprecated anyway. It can only be restored and upgraded... Many liked the app. Why did you purchase it and now it's lost forever... What's the reason not to open source it, giving it to the community? It has some protected patents? Please reconsider. There are a lot of abandonware out there, and people who liked them make various versions of them...
wy...@gmail.com <wy...@gmail.com> #44
If nothing else why not bring it back as an alternate version of the system clock? You don't even need to have it synch across devices- just give us the old interface and design.
Or improve your current system clock. How is the thing so bad compared to Timely, a what decade old design?

Description
Someone even made a modified version of it to work well on new Android versions:
Please bring the app back to the community who loved it, as open sourced project.
This way people could revive this wonderful app.
