Thank you for sharing this feedback with us.
I have checked that, as you said, currently it is not possible to deploy Cloud Run services using the Deployment Manager. Therefore, I have opened a feature request to inform the Deployment Manager product team, in order to evaluate the implementation of this feature.
Further communications will be made in this thread, however I cannot promise an ETA for the resolution of this request.

Said Feature Request is infeasible.
While Deployment Manager will remain running and supported for as long as customers need, we do not recommend customers take any new dependencies on DM.

So what's the situation? If DM is not actively being maintained and is unsupported it would be good to explain that somewhere so that other people don't spend time adopting it only for it to be inevitably shut down at some point in the near future.
If it is supported, can we reopen this issue - because it seems strange to have a project such as this that doesn't support your full suite of services?

Want to use deployment manager (gcloud or API) to deploy cloud run resources. I understand as of today, it is not possible.
What you expected to happen:
I want to be able to use gcloud deployment-manager command or an API call to deploy cloud run service.
