Same bug here. Pixel 4a.

Spotify has acknowledged the issue and are rolling out a fix. Details here:
https://community.spotify.com/t5/Android/Google-Alarm-Clock-app-stopped-working-with-Spotify/td-p/5253964/page/2
In the short term, refrain from using Spotify music as alarm sounds until you update the Spotify app.
In the longer term, Clock will gain resilience to this sort of issue.

Same issue here. Seems like it is a problem with Spotify alarms. When Spotify app goes to sleep then the google clock does not wake it up at the alarm time. Seems to work ok though with the standard alarm tones. The issue seems to have coincided with a Spotify update last week. U can read about it in the Spotify forums: https://community.spotify.com/t5/Android/Google-Alarm-Clock-app-stopped-working-with-Spotify/m-p/5253964#M180543
Interesting though that the Spotify alarm integration works fine on my Samsung Galaxy clock app..but not the Google clock app. Using galaxy s21+. Android 11.

Same issue here, just a failure this morning. No connection to do-not-disturb or any other things. The alarm just did not work.
Any union behind that? ;-)

I have the same problem on my Pixel 3a. In my case it is working with spotify integration if a create a new alarm. But old alarms and the alarm set by bedtime time plan (digital well being) are not working like described above.

I'm also affected by this issue. If I read this correctly on the Spotify site.
There's still no working update.
And it sounds to me that first Spotify Crashes and afterwards Google clock.
So there's at least one problem with the Google clock too.
Is it possible to catch the exception caused somehow by Spotify and play a fallback sound?

Same issue as described above, but my pixel 4 doesn't sound with Pandora. Just tried an alarm with factory tone and it did not go off either. Vibrated once and then the phone rebooted.

Amazing how this alarm clock issue is all the news, but the Wear OS serious problems on almost every smart watch manufacturer using wear os & google assistant isn't being fixed for well over a year now making most watches just a paper weight & nobody at google is doing a damn thing to fix it, £300-£400 watches are useless mostly without the assistant features that simply dont work & most if not all bought the watches for the features, its shocking & disgusting how its been left tbh.

Hi,
Same issue as described above here on Poco F3 with MIUI 12.5.3 global edition, using the default sounds of app the alarm is programmed but when the time it's the alarm doesn't sound and pops up a notification saying missed alarm.
Also, I don't use Spotify and Youtube Music integration for the alarm sound.
Version of app 6.4.1

I can confirm: We are using 2x Pixel 4 5G units and I am using only Pixel Sounds as alarm what works without any issues. My wife uses Spotify as alarm sound and has now missed many alarms in the last weeks.
We are both on the latest greates update state on Android 11 with patches from Sept. 5th. Google Play System Updates from Sept. 1st. Clock App is version 6.4.1

Was having this issue too but changed back to YouTube music for alarms since it is better than Spotify. No issues after switching.

No Alarms or alerts are audible, but vibration works. Not attempting music service integration. Alarm sound firing options are greyed out. Pixel 5a.

Today I updated the clock app to the version 7.1 (401109166) (play store version), and the problem persist, I granted all permissions and I dissabled the app of the saving battery mode.
Only I use local audios (Platinum, Oxigen,...) but the alarm still saying "missed alarm at 10 pm" for example, and no vibration and alerts aren't audible.
The timer sound's works.
I'm using a Poco F3 with Android 11 with security updates from 2021-08-01, and Android System WebView 94.0.4606.85 in stable channel.

Had this today on Moto g20. Alarms went off all week, but not on Saturday. What's up with that?
an...@gmail.com <an...@gmail.com> #35
I have a default pixel 5 with NO spotify running. This happens to me so infrequently that its difficult/impossible to find or determine the problem. I set a timer recently for 20 minutes for a quick nap. and it never went off. I was out for a whole hour. for my default alarm I had to purchase one of those cheapo digital ones from walmart - which still has yet to fail me. But the problem with that one is that I can't setup multiple alarms in effective way that will allow me to have both timer AND alarm clock, its just not possible. Guess I'm going to be buying an egg timer on my next paycheck. This is as frustrating as it is annoying.

Hi, VIVA Y20 (V2027) with the same issue, additionally i want to comment that the first days works fine, but then i update the Operative system version and test thje do not disturb function and as i remember this issue starts to happen. I lost a bonus on my job for dont receive this alarms , i think the google team is the worst technical support to solve issues it is now 5 months without solved..it reallly sucks.
I think we need to put a legal claim with the charges to pay all our affectations.

Pixel 6, no Spotify integration, default alarm, Android v12. Intermittent fail to sound and get missed alarm notification. For example, 5:30a alarm enabled for M, T, W, Th did go off on M and T, did not go off W or Th. This is a big problem. Is there a different alarm app that can properly use the phone hardware? Can I be notified of when the fix is available to install?
ri...@gmail.com <ri...@gmail.com> #40
This is not a Spotify problem. I have no Spotify on my phone (Samsung A32) nor on my Samsung tablet, the Google Clock has alarm permissions enabled. Still it doesn't sound on either device if the screen is off for longer than about 30 minutes.

Why does Google Search suppress the results for "alarms are blocked in virtual reality"? It is a bug in Clock for years and should be fixed. A solution that many came up with was to change the Text Size from XL to L. This worked for me, too. Clock alarms should be VERY reliable. Flights have been missed...
