I'm still facing the issue with version 2.4.0-alpha10 that optional, nullable navigation args with default values are reported missing for deep links, as was originally reported here for version 2.4.0-alpha08. This is the runtime exception when starting the example app, which I've added to this issue.

java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Deep link example://first_fragment can't be used to open destination Destination(com.example.myapplication:id/firstFragment) label=FirstFragment class=com.example.myapplication.FirstFragment.
    Following required arguments are missing: [firstArg, secondArg]
