Similarly to the already fixed issue https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/192433071 BasicTextField and TextField require extra back button click when the cursor handle (that tear shaped element below cursor) is present in the focused TextField. It usually appears when TextField already contains some value and focused, e.g. in case of some default value:

var value by remember { mutableStateOf("initial value") }
TextField(modifier = modifier, value = value, onValueChange = { value = it })

Steps to Reproduce:

Click on a TextField (or a BasicTextField) with some non-empty text in it.
The keyboard appears, as well as the cursor handle.
Click back button to close keyboard.
Click back button once again to remove the cursor handle.
Click back button once more for it to be handled by activity, or any other back button handler.

What is expected: As with EditText from View package only one back button click is expected to close keyboard and remove cursor handle.

Is there any update when the alpha04 will be available? We need it to target api 31 because of the PendingIntent mutability flags missing in alpha03.

I'll schedule it for the next release. Note that alpha04 is a complete turn-down of the library where all APIs are marked as Deprecated, so you'll also want to start removing your usages of the library.
