What steps would let us observe this issue?
1. Open Gboard.
2. Activate long press for symbols under Gboard Settings > Preferences > Long press for symbols
3. Press a key with a hidden sign behind it for long until the hidden sign is selected.
What did you expect to happen?
I expected a smooth translation between long pressing the key and the selection of the hidden sign.
What actually happened?
There was a very annoying harsh overlay that didn't use any smooth animation and just pops up like that. It's very annoying and very distracting. Feels like Gboard breaks every time I select a hidden sign...
