What you would like to accomplish:
Since Pub/Sub Lite has a lot in common with Kafka and how it's working under the hood, it would be nice to have something that would allow for keeping only the latest message for a given key (this in case the messages are keyed). Same as log compaction that it exists in Kafka https://kafka.apache.org/documentation/#compaction.

How this might work:
At the topic creation provide a way to only keep the latest message per key.

This is not supported at the moment.
