9to5google has written an article on this, with at least 6 different users in the article comments expressing that they too are seeing this issue on their P8Ps:
Android Police has also reported on this, and they mentioned that members of their team are experiencing this problem to some extent on their P8P devices as well:
Finally, one person experiencing this issue on Reddit received a replacement device from Google that has the same problem but even worse:
Hopefully, this problem can be fixed or mitigated in software.

Clearly the panel can't handle the 1Hz refresh rate combined with a dim backlight. They seem to be accounting for this by brightening the backlight at 1Hz, but it clearly doesn't do the trick on so many panels. It's a shame because the only fix would be to raise either the brightness or the refresh rate, and both would negatively impact battery life. Total blunder to include 1Hz in the specs when clearly the panel isn't up to the task.

Where usually worked decently, now it doesn't work. It seems that the device can't connect to nearby towers and it is connecting to faraway cell towers (4G). Maybe wrong modem file?
I've been testing the device near 5G towers and the device is acting fine with great download/upload speed.
Another side effect is that the battery drain from mobile standby has increased noticeably.

Vodafone A4 build.
I was used to a low signal in my house but now it's either on emergency calls only or full bar. It's basically like a switch always being turned on and off. There is no in between.
Also, it drops when I turn my wifi off and comes back when I turn wifi on before dropping again.
Really not good when I am waiting for a call from the hospital. Thankfully I have wifi calling enabled but that really isn't the point.
I have reported this to live chat and through my phone and also sent videos and screenshots of it happening.

Same here in the US. Twice yesterday, after installing the December patch, I had LTE with the ! mark on the signal indicator and couldn't do anything. My phone was super hot. This was downtown in a major US city that has excellent LTE and 5G coverage. Had to drop to airplane mode and back to get usable data again.
This is completely unacceptable for a flagship device.

Prior to the automatic December update, I had no issues at all. After promoting a restart my phone went into emergency calls only.
after various resets, clearing sim data, and changing APNs. Nothing worked, only slight relief from turning off adaptive Connectivity. which lessened the problem from emergency calls only to extremely low and intermittent signal inside or out.
Putting the SIM into my old Pixel 3aXL which is running an older build of android 12 in Beta, the signal was full and worked flawlessly

- If I get a Service Provider connection it is really bad and lasts less than 15 minutes.
- I can not get a Service Provider connection in my house.
- I have backed up and performed a factory reset without change.
- I have tried my SIM in a backup Samsung phone - it works perfectly.
- I have contacted Google and was told I need to get my phone repaired. No acknowledgement of a known issue (which this issue tracker seems to negate).
- Before the December 2021 update my phone worked well yet my connections were weak compared to the Samsung or my previous P4a

I have been reading of people successfully reverting back to the November update and that has resolved their reception issues. I'm a little reluctant to do that simply because it's not something that we, as consumers, should need to do.

I wonder how many of us gave our network provider a hard time saying it was there fault, when all the time it's been Google the multi billion company causing this havoc, and what looks like they ain't in no rush to sort it out either. After all they've got what they wanted our money just to own the latest new brick.
Has anyone tried going down the eSim route to see if that works at all?

No signal at all on both my wife and my Pixel 6 phones in the UK. My build number ends in A4 but my wife's build number ends in A1. The problem happened after the December update. We're on Vodafone UK and Sky mobile. We have tried our SIM cards on a Samsung Galaxy S8 and the SIM cards are both fine. It is definitely the update that has caused this network connectivity issue.

Initially a Google customer advisor didn't recognise an issue, somehow I don't think that'll be the case now!
Please hurry up and fix this Google as I've gone from full 4G, sometimes 5G at home to now struggling for any reception at all!!

Sorry to hear the bad user experience. To help us to debug to see what happened indeed a bugreport from the device would be really appreciated.
How to enable the bugreport:
-
Menu->settings->about phone -> build number -> keep click the "build number" till it shows "now you are a developer"
-
Go to Settings -> system -> developer options
- croll down and find "USB debugging". Enable it
- "Enable Verbose Vendor Logging" Enable it too
Whenever issue observed, please do:
- Settings -> System -> Developer Options -> Click "Bug report".
It will take few minutes to generate A bugreport. Please save and share it.
Please share bugreports and screenshots from Google Drive. Share files with android-bugreport@google.com and include only Google drive links in this bug.

Google support told me to replace my SIM. I now have dual carriers, dual SIM. Still can't use the phone over mobile network. Google then told me they wanted to pursue warranty replacement when it's clearly an issue that only came up with the Dec patch. I hope Google Updates their tech support people immediately and resolves this. This is really bad timing to lose basic phone functionality.

Given the huge number of users on here and redit and twitter and android authority reporting the same issue it might be time for a customer wide annoucement from Google to amange people's expectations and stop environmentally wasteful returns . My problems with the Pixel 6 in the past week or so have been extensive: (i) inconsistent at best network connectivity; (ii) calls dropping routinely whether I have wi-fi calling on or not; (iii) randomly shutting down constantly; (iv) very slow processing; and (v) getting very hot.
I've tried various solutions that others have recommended: turning off adaptivity connectivity, turning off wi-fi calling, resetting to factory settings. So far, after I reset to factory settings a couple days ago, I haven't had a recurrence of problems (iii)-(v) yet, but the network issues remain and have gotten worse. My wife is on the same mobile network with her iPhone and it works fine. I tried my SIM card in her iPhone and the connection was fine. So I know it's not a carrier/SIM card issue. It's a Google issue. This is outrageous for a $600 phone. It doesn't function as a phone.

A $1000 phone that can't connect to the network after a software update (when we know we're in network range) is just not acceptable.
Their front line support have no idea about any of this, pushed me get a new SIM. Then wanted me to submit a warranty claim, which it has been clear from the outset the December update corrupted LTE signal handling! I now have a second carrier account on my old 2XL that I'm paying for just in case of an emergency and to cover my small business which is hobbled without this basic functionality.

Same problem here in France. Losing the network once or twice every day, no apparent reason, and no way to notice it so people can't reach me for several hours. I'm encountering the same issue here after the update.
Where I used to have a good signal, it is now so poor and no network at all when the coverage is not that good when I was able to have some network before. This happens independently of the SIM card used and whether it is a physical SIM or the eSIM.
That is a very impacting issue so hoping this will be fixed ASAP without having to wait for next month's update.
Although, there shouldn't be so many issues out of the box when getting a brand new phone, Thanks for fixing the others as many of them made it a real pain to use the phone and made me want to return it so many times, especially the fingerprint.
Thank you.

But much worse, like everyone else on this post, I now have almost no signal strength. Before the update it was 100Mb/sec. The problem is not my Orange network as my old second Motorola G8 phone still has excellent signal strength when I place them side by side.
For the first time in years I now need to use my Wi-Fi inside. Outside, I cannot use my phone!

This is now a very expensive photo frame.
And yet still no official acknowledgement from Google that there is an issue with the Pixel 6
Absolutely shameful the way they are still marketing this phone.
I would hope that the network providers are putting pressure on the company to rectify it, as it will be their customer service departments who bill be bearing the brunt of the complaints from people who have taken out a new contract on this absolute piece of junk.

If you consider all the problems (fingerprint reader, random freezes, crashes, battery drain, poor signal, usb audio problem, no work profile...), the pixel 6 is a nightmare, close to a scam... A 300€ chinese phone does better... And of course it's too late to have a refund 😔 .

Yes I'm fuming that this hasn't been delt with yet, 5 days without signal isn't acceptable at all, and not for such a large company as Google. Yes I'm probably going to send mine back for a refund if this isn't delt with by Monday, I've got 7 of these pixels for my company as work phones and its cost my business a great deal of loss income.

Completely unable to make calls or receive calls, data connectivity extremely poor after December update on Pixel 6 in Australia. Was working perfectly before. On a 4G plan (Aldi Mobile, using Telstra network).

I thought about this because at home I have no signal (like I said on my previous post) but today I was indoors somewhere else and got FULL 5G signal. The difference is that my house is a 1st floor in a crowded neighborhood (usually where lowfreq 4G bands are used), while today's place is a top of the building 9th floor, with no surrounding buildings (usually where mid-high freq bands are used).
Just a thought. I may be completely wrong but you'll never know.

Yes, the december update screwed the signal strength but i get the feeling that the pixel 6 was already pretty bad before the update
On the meantime i performed a comparison showing signal strength (with the december update installed).
Same network, same network cell, same lte band , same everything. Both phones locked at LTE. Netmonster used as an app.
samsung a32
Pixel 6
Notice the much worse rsrp of the pixel 6.
7dbm is huge deal. (Try googling for an lte antenna of 5dbm gain and you will get the idea)
On the other hand i dont know what justifies the huge difference of rssi
Any network gurus out there that would explain the difference of rssi?
Even my 4 year old Huawei has an rsrp similar to the samsung a32 so something is terrible wrong with the network performance of pixel 6

My Pixel 6 has weak or NO cell phone connection using my SIM card in places where my old LG G6 phone with the same SIM card worked well. I am NOT able to make phone calls at all in some places that I regularly visit. This is a HUGE problem for me.
When visit locations with no cell phone access the Pixel 6 gets hot. I assume it its trying hard to re-establish SIM card phone and internet connections.
My Pixel 6 has weak or no internet access using my phone’s SIM card in places where my old LG G6 phone with the same SIM card worked well. This problem means I can no longer do the Government required COVID-19 check-in outside my preferred supermarket as I have no internet access.
My Pixel 6 frequently disconnects and reconnects to my Plantronics EITE16 Bluetooth headset (earpiece) during a phone call. The EITE16 worked perfectly with my old LG G6.
My Pixel 6 does not allow the display of the phone’s media information on my 2015 Honda Jazz car entertainment screen. The Honda screen only shows “No Device Connected”. This means the Honda screen controls for playing media are missing. The connection is Bluetooth and while media and phone call audio comes out of the cars speakers there is no information about the playing media or phone calls on the Honda Jazz screen. I can no longer make phone calls from the Honda screen or import my phone book into the Honda system. The steering wheel control which normally advances a podcast forward by 20 seconds no longer works.

The silence from Google and complete refusal from support to acknowledge
the obvious software issue is egregious. Forcing us to buy new SIMs
unnecessarily, use old or buy new phones, and offer hardware replacement
with no evidence that will fix anything after we've used the devices for 2
months without issue only to be paperweighted by the software update ....
is all utterly maddening.

France, Orange provider, A4 build
Tried uninstalling carrier services updates, installing beta version, no change. 4G defaulted, adaptative connection disabled. No change.
I must say I'm very disappointed. I could do with a subpar fingerprint reader (coming from the pixel 2 it already felt like a downgrade) but I can't believe Google cannot nail the most basic (and critical) functionality of a phone.
Ok, errare humanum est, but I can't believe it takes days to get fixed!
Color switching icons are nice and all, but it definitely feels like priorities are not in the right order!
Isn't the problem critical enough to rollback to November update?!

The weird thing is If I keep the screen on and actively use the phone it does not really lose the signal / go to "no sim - no service" but once I lock the phone after a little bit of time it will happen.

Also, understanding cellular coverage in your area is important to this research. Would you be willing to provide us with a more general description of your location at the time of the failure - such as a cross street or what environment you are in (outside, house, office building, etc)? ni...@googlemail.com <ni...@googlemail.com> #788
Oddly the issue seems to have resolved itself yesterday, since then my network connection/strength seems to be back to normal.... good relatively strong 4g connection at home (compared to being mostly unusable for the past week).
I'm not sure if it's just a coincidence, whether Google has tweaked something somehow behind the scenes but sharing the actions I performed yesterday below.
* Entered the beta programme for the google carrier services app and update it - This did nothing!
* Given the above after a few hours I decided to revert back the app to the stable/standard channel, uninstalling the app updates and then re-updating to the latest version - I didn't notice any different here.
* I was then going to submit a bug report to google as they had reached out so performed the following actions as advised by them to enable the debugging:
1) On your device, go to Settings > System > About phone.
2) At the bottom of the screen, touch 'Build number' several times in quick succession. You’ll see a prompt welcoming you to developer mode once this step is complete.
3) Press Back to go back to the Settings > System screen.
4) Touch Developer options.
5) Make sure Developer options at the top of the screen is set to ON.
6) Make sure the toggle for USB debugging is ON.
7) Make sure the toggle for Bug report shortcut is ON.
8) Make sure the toggle for Enable verbose vendor logging is ON.
9) Reproduce the issue on your phone (trigger the error message or problem you're experiencing). It’s important that your phone logs at least one occurrence of the problem.
So I turned my wifi off to try and reproduce the issue which is when I noticed that I couldn't. 18 hours later and I'm still not able to reproduce the issue. I've also been out and about and same, experienced no network issues. Very odd but I'm not complaining anymore!
I very much doubt that setting up debugging did anything. Whether the action of updating to Beta carrier services app, reverting to standard app (uninstalling all updates) and then re-updating it did anything to resolve it... no idea.
Hopefully its just Google tweaking something behind the scenes which fixed it, meaning they will roll it out wider.

In fact we have rolled out to 15% of the population and then people started complaining, so they stopped rolling it. and now there is two issues:
1. Those 15% who were "lucky" to get the update enjoying Pixel 6 tablet experience
2. Those 85% who were lucky not to get update - complain about other bug fixes not being delivered
What is failed here is communication with customers and transparency. I would expect wider broadcast around failed update and ETAs on fix being provided. Community management acknowledging problem is not enough. If you would have broken that nice live captions - let be it, but smartphone is still phone, and users must be able to call.
You must fix problem asap either though finding what problem is or rolling out rollback to November for those who received December already.

Googles lack of response on this is really disappointing, this is an issue they created, and cant be bothered to actively update/respond or support its customers who now have crippled phones.
it seems there are enough reports of this issue now, enough people have provided feedback (even potential technical work around #794)
and from Google just silence/no updates, not even a "we a really sorry please bear with us while we continue to work on it".

I understand that resolving issues like these can be tricky, and getting resources on it may be difficult during the holiday period. However, given the severity of the issue and the apparent scale of the impact, there should be some formal acknowledgement from the Pixel Team. I have not seen this yet. Further, I've no idea if the workarounds mentioned in this tread and in online articles really have anything to do with the underlying issue without this acknowledgment.
I personally would be relieved if I knew that this issue was being investigated. Otherwise, I need to consider the alternatives of a replacement phone if this is not going to get resolved.
ha...@gmail.com <ha...@gmail.com> #835
If we could do something collectively, something that had weight, we would be heard more. In France, there is not really this "class action" system to react. But we have other ways. Simply, are we capable?
For example, boycott Google services? but we will not, because our work also depends on it.
Put thousands of unused Pixel 6s on their doorstep? Neither will we, because we paid for this toy.
There's one more solution that's worth what it's worth: denial of service. There are over 800 of us on this newsfeed. If each of us committed to sending a bug report, from the Pixel 6, once every hour, it would generate (at a minimum) 8,000 bug reports per day.
It might not change a thing at all, but at least the action would be collective.
I had started a petition here, it was not followed.
Are we dreaming electric sheep?

You just need to unlock the bootloader temporarily. You can re-lock it after flashing, so nothing changes basically if you go through the whole procedure. You need to wipe your phone though, so don't forget to backup.
That's what I did and I regained network reception so there is no doubt the problem comes from the December update.
I flashed the SD1A.210817.037 image from mid November and it's working fine (I'm in France do I guess it's ok for EMEA countries).

Sure I could spend time flashing the November build, and then rebuilding all my apps/data, BUT I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO DO THAT. I really don't see why, as others have said, they can't just put out an OTA containing the November radio part. There's enough evidence that doing so would certainly fix the elements that were so badly broken by the December update.

Our engineers have pushed an update to your phone that we are hoping will improve your connectivity issues. You can check that you got the update by checking the version number of the carrier settings. To do this go to Settings > Network & Internet > Internet > Select your carrier name > Carrier settings Versions. If you have gotten the update you will see a version number ending with 49 21-12-20.
Once you have the new update, can you please let me know whether you see improvement to the connectivity issues that started after you updated to the December software.
Thanks!

If you guys are not comfortable with flashing don't try and brick your

Google clearly has a very bad client communication and if some of you are

Now, what is positive is that there are some fixes tests with some of us.

Thank you for writing back to Google Support.
Thanks for providing us with the required information. We've noted down the details and as this is a global issue a team is working on it.
We're not aware or don't have an update when it's going to be fixed but we request your patience and there'll be an update on this as soon as possible.

To which I responded the following:
-------
Thanks for getting back to me.
I would appreciate if you could feedback to the senior management team that the response from Google in relation to this issue has been extremely poor.
You (Google) have failed to conduct adequate quality control before rolling out an update that has completely broken the core capability of your devices, globally (i.e. to connect to a mobile network). Additionally, I needn't remind you that the pixel 6 series is branded as a premium product.
I'm assuming you (Google) have the capability to roll back the update that was pushed out. This is what you (Google) should have done as soon as you realised there was an issue. Furthermore I would expect to find a public statement from Google on an easily accessible page on
I am extremely displeased at how Google has handled the response to this issue and would likely return the phone for a full refund were it not for the fact that I am currently visiting family in Germany for two weeks.
As stated above, I would appreciate it if you could pass on this message to the highest levels of management within your organisation responsible for the Google pixel phone series.
-------
I'm not convinced it will make a shred of difference, but Google should be cognisant of the fact that they can't just do this to customers who rely on their products. I've been without a properly functional phone for 10 days now. That's completely unacceptable.

ma...@gmail.com <ma...@gmail.com> #893
Dear Matt,
I am writing to let you know how utterly disappointed I have been with Google's response to the serious issues that are plaguing your recently released premium phones, the Pixel 6 series, since the December 2021 update that was released on 13th December. My phone has been close to a brick for 10 days when out and about.
My phone is virtually only usable on WiFi and I am unable to make any calls that do not drop extremely quickly or suffer from terrible quality where the other caller cannot hear me. I am currently travelling around Germany and I am hardly able to use data and core functionality such as Android Auto in my car because I have extremely poor signal nearly all the time. My partner on a Pixel 4a has no such issues on the same service provider.
Frankly, it beggars belief that a trillion-dollar company like Google is unable to effectively communicate and resolve this issue in a matter of hours, if not 1-2 days. In this thread on your bug tracker there have been over 890 responses by increasingly frustrated Pixel 6 owners. Even if you can't immediately identify where the bug is, you should have swiftly offered a rollback to the November firmware version that had no signal issues on my end.
To highlight again, I am extremely displeased at how Google has handled the response to this issue and would likely return the phone for a full refund were it not for the fact that I am currently travelling.
I would appreciate it if you could pass on this message to the highest levels of management within your organisation responsible for the Google pixel phone series. My advice to Google would be to work to put better structures and procedures in place to ensure this does not occur in future. I needn't remind you how reliant we all now are on our mobile devices and how they can literally save lives. Broken call functionality could theoretically hinder swift response to an accident leading to more severe injury or even loss of life.
Clear communication through official channels, giving a detailed understanding of what has happened, why, what is being done to fix it, along with expected timescales is the bare minimum of what should be communicated. Instead, your customers are left to trawl through hundreds of posts on a bug tracker to get scraps of information as well as finding speculation on various tech sites.
Please do better in future.
Regards,
My Name

to all the disgruntled angry Google customers on here I've found that YOUTUBE and the @ made by Google channel is a good place to spark some comments in the hope that someone somewhere senior in Google finally wakes up and realises what a mess their customer and technical departments are making of this. On that channel made by Google have at least said this is "not the experience we would want you to have". Ok that's still not an update. Nor an apology. But at least someone recognises that they are not doing their best work right now.. I'm going to try and return my Pixel 6 after xmas for a refund citing total lack of cell signal as a fundamental breach

I tried the beta carrier services, turning off adaptive connectivity and the various other methods recommended on reddit and these posts but none worked for me or made any difference whatsoever.
Almost two weeks of waiting for some sort of communication or timeline from Google was too much. A lot of my work revolves around being able to receive text messages and calls so this was about as impactful of an issue as possible and to say that my faith in their phones and updates has been shaken is an understatement. I am the first to jump on shiny new things but after this issue I think I'll let other people be the beta testers and see how it goes before installing future updates.

I used to think that the blue tick program that Telstra uses to recommend for rural use was a bit wanky, not know, samsung phones have the blue tick and not one pixel has ever over the years reached the benchmarks they use.
Even with a fully functional pixel without the recent dramas the reception functionality has always been sub par compared to Samsung.(Lots of research in recent week)
Optus have a similar guide,i forget what its called but again pixel doesn't rate on it for rural use, samsung does.
Ive bought a Samsung a52s 5g,Fuck the pixel like everyone else never again its as good as its going to get know, its still working ok,reception steady so selling it in good conscience.
Just to add, android 12 is a dogs breakfast in general, samsung have pulled it from rollout, Google have a lot of headaches at present.
All the best mate.

I have a SIM and eSIM, carrier are Vodafone and O2. First i thought connection breaks where random and might had other causes. But it was conspicuous.
If Google himself can not make a phone even fulfilling the basic feature of making a phone-call with their flagship phones this is a bit dissapointing and unexpected.
If this get picked-up by major press it has the potential to ruin their reputation ...
Every company makes mistakes, but crisis-management seems to be just a big mess.

Just had a chat with google support, and after a lot of 'back-and-forth' about the status of said signal issue I was still told ( after 10+ days ) googles official stance on this problem is still - ' Our engineers are working on this as a top priority but as of yet we still do not have an ETA for a fix '. In addition to me asking do they even know what the cause of the issue was, I got ' Our engineers are currently working on this problem, there isn't any detail to say what the issue is.' When I asked can I assist with providing technical information/bug reports I was told engineers do not require assistance at this time and will contact me if required.
I have escalated to management of which apparently I will hear back in 24-48 hours. I cannot believe an engineering team cannot provide a fix in over 10 days. Just incredible. Do these developers realise what impact they have caused?
Communication is dire and in addition the community manager on the forums under this issue is also silent. Google support team (not their fault as they are level 1 service desk) are not getting the information they need to handle these questions.
Maybe if a few of us can escalate to management we might get some answers. I just cant believe this is the way its being handled. Whoever has been assigned this ticket can you please advise what the 'blocker' at the top of this ticket is at least? Maybe tell us you at least know what the issue is ?

This has been on the initial firmware release, the .37 release (mid November), and the Global December Release A1 and the Australian December Release A5.
Phone seems to alternate between 5g/3g but rarely see 4g, where my Pixel 4XL (non 5g Phone), would happily sit on 4G everywhere.
Our Galaxy S20/S21 series are Exynos based and have the Telstra Carriers highest tick of Signal Quality (blue tick), thus I'd expect the Pixel 6 series to be equally capable as it has the same modem hardware.

firmware ) then a return seems inevitable. They could perhaps try letting each phone have a manual setting for power supply to the moden - say low medium and high -which you could toggle at home to high if indoors you can't get signal for example....You could then use Android 12 rules based features to set rules for each location to change the modem power settings. That would work as a work around
But I'm beginning to think there's little point in suggesting anything for the engineers in this forum as neither Google customer services nor their technical departments seem to be reading any of these customer responses - if they were they would surely have posted some sort of update into this forum by now.. I hope when this debacle is over , possibly after Google have suffered heavy losses from thousands of returns , someone senior starts reading these posts and realises Google has a massive structural customer services problem that they need to address if they are going to be in the hardware market and want to have any customers left.

I spent half of yesterday attempting the method in my link, the google developer ota files it was about a 1.9gb download that didn't work.
Once the instal gets to 50p.c it aborts, and says wait for it,this is the real kicker'instal is considered a downgrade',or words to that effect,so from my efforts you can only install new versions it's not backward compatible, for that you have to go where this old fella can't be bothered that's been mentioned here way back.

The newspapers talk about it less, because it is drowned in the middle of other less technological news. However, given the scale of the phenomenon and the non-reaction of Google after 20 days, I suggest that you distribute this hashtag on all the social networks that you can (just mentioning that since the beginning of December, the Pixel 6 and 6pro no longer work and Google does nothing).
This will not provide a technical solution, but if our word becomes louder, perhaps we will have all the transparency that we are entitled to expect, as customers.

i think enough people have started complaining (directly to google) about this that they have had to come up with a standard 'scripted' response ,
its just a shame they aren't putting the same effort into providing us with an actual fix as they are in attempting to fob us off and cover this up.
Shortly after that i then received a survey invitation about my interaction with support team, so they had obviously just closed the call without any further interaction.
so i gave them the appropriate feedback
did we fix your problem: (option) NO
how was your experience: (option) Extremely Disappointed
why did did give this response: ..... lets just say i explained they need to be honest about the problems with the P6, rollback the update and communicate honestly & openly with their customers
If you have this issue then i encourage everyone to email back to support telling them how upset/angry you are.....
if you implement a change that goes wrong and you cant immediately fix it. you roll it back (it is the most simple #1 I.T. change rule,)
it seems google don't use ITIL or any other sort of IT best practice, and their customer support truly sucks.

Telling them about this issue, how Google have left us with unusable phones for weeks now, and over xmas/new year.
Also, how many more people received a Pixel for Xmas and don’t know of this site (or the the forums) and are thinking it’s a network issue rather Google breaking the actual phone after the December patch.

I'm on Telstra (Australia) with the Pixel 6 bought from JB Hi-Fi (non-telco official retailer here in Australia), ever since the December update, it has struggled to hold a consistent signal anywhere other than areas where I previously got full bars of 5G signal.
The browser keeps erroring with "network changed", and the signal bar consistently cycles through dropping from signal to no signal and back again. It's almost unusable anywhere except at home and a very small handful of places.
I've tried joining the Carrier Services beta and sideloading the v88 APK, and adding a second eSIM (Vodafone AU) to see if that fixes the problem. The issue so far persists.
Would love to see a fix, so that my phone can actually be a phone, instead of an overpriced WiFi brick.

They offered me a full refund but then I'd have to return the Bose headphones as well, Google have screwed us big time.
I've asked for a exchange for another brand new phone and that's the last I've heard from them.
Google should keep us updated on any progress which tells me they can't find the issue. A lot of us have sent bug reports and still nothing from them except a thank you and we'll be in touch.
I do feel for the customer service team as there the ones that take all the flag and abusive phone calls, I doubt the heads in google don't even know about this nor care about us.
Its a disgrace that this is still a S3 shows how much we mean to them.

I also have the Bose headphones although they're still in the sealed box and also had 10% store credit from Google One which I've spent so not exactly straight forward even if they offered a refund :(
On the positive side, I will withdraw all paid google business accounts and move elsewhere which will cost them more than them refunding me the cost of the phone. Not that they'll care but it'll make me feel better :)
Still unbelievable that they don't re-release the November update to supersede the bad December...couldn't organise a party in a brewery !!

Wasted hours with Telstra support thinking this bug was their problem. I've
given up on Google resolving this in a timely manner. I'm moving back to a
reliable device in the morning. It's unthinkable that a "flagship" phone
built by a company like Google can fail so badly at a basic fundamental
function, and it just be left that way... The $1000 Pixel 6 can go in the
drawer until they can be bothered fixing it. In the meantime, the $500 4a
will get the job done. Last Nexus/Pixel I buy, I swear.

If they are after country certifications, they should have just pass the burden to each country carriers that aren't explicit on telling which are the allowed protocols each network signal handshake (i.e. by the time the phone finds a signal), and use whatever is the fastest as default.

I agree like you removing my business from them will as you make me feel better that a company isn't getting my money. Google make it hard to reclaim a refund saying we had only 14 days to do so, so I laid down the law.
I regret ordering the Pixel even though it's a good phone, the only reason I left Samsung was because updates took ages to come from them. Just look what this update has done now.
I always buy the top end range of phones, the pixel doesn't come near the top end at this moment in time.

So just now i've received another email, asking for more information again, eg details of the settings, carrier services, SIM, etc etc and a bug report etc
(....all of which had previously been sent to them)
anyway I've duly sent it all back to them (again)
its either incompetence, or deliberate delaying tactics. (or they're just hoping we will just get too frustrated with them and go away?)

To be fair it's mostly not working at my home due to a weak carrier signal, but my p3 and 3 iphones all work fine in the same location.
Description
I hope you're well.
After receiving December's 2021 update on my Pixel 6 in Germany build number 12.0.0 (SQ1D.211205.016.A1, Dec 2021) I have incredibly bad network reception. I don't have bars in my house (previously almost full signal). Outside under blue sky I'm getting 1 bar(previously full signal)
That's really horrible.
Phone is unusable for basic operation like a phone call.
Please fix asap.
Thank you
