Thanks for the report. Can you share the APK failing and give suggestions to force the error such that I can see the entire logcat on device. The outline is looking correct so I believe the error is someplace else and logcat will show that.

Thank you for the dump and information. Turns out that behavior of the verifier changed on Android 11 and 12 but was reverted again. I am working on a fix that should be easy to merge to the 4.0 branch.
Note that the verification error is actually also easy to create by manual outlining, but our pattern just emphasize it.

Description
DESCRIBE THE ISSUE IN DETAIL:
It is possible to put
lint.xmls in therootProjectand in every module individually. These will be considered together to set up configuration for each module. In the attach project the structure is:applint.xmlmissing, will use../lint.xmlliblint.xmlexists, but empty (will be modified by step 6)lint.xmlexists, and suppresses the clear unused resources by pattern.STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
gradlew lint:lib:lintDebugtelling us there's an unused resource called "unused" inlib/build/reports/lint-results-debug.htmlgradlew lintlib/lint.xmland uncomment<ignore>gradlew lintActual: Observe nothing was executed, everything up-to-date.
Expected: lint analysis re-executes and updates the HTML report with the findings based on the newly changed config file.
Bonus steps to prove that the uncommenting should have an effect:
gradlew clean lint --no-build-cacheWorkaround
polyfill missing setup
