Add extra information for blind users in the UK version like landmarks that will be passed along the current journey i.e:
"Walk along Apple Avenue in 1 min (100m)
passing Starbux on your left in 20m"
Also an indication of when to cross a street in the javascript google directions API would also be useful for blind users for example, if I catch a bus near to a venue, the google directions API will say something like:
"Take bus X64 to stop Cross Street
Walk 40m
You will arive at your destination"
Currently, blind users are unable to tell whether when to cross a street to get to their destination or if it is on the same side of the road as the bus stop they've jumped off at. Being able to tell if they need to cross streets in google directions API will allow them to pre-plan their journey before they leave the house.
