Since AGP 7.1.0, bug 145670440 was fixed.

But it seems it does not provide to customize several settings to include generated codes

Problems:

javaDocReleaseJar task: it cannot generate javadoc from generated source code.
sourceReleaseJar task: output contains generated java codes only.

Reproducible project :

$ git clone https://github.com/ganadist/VersionCodeDemo -b grpc grpc

$ ./gradlew :lib:proto:javaDocReleaseJar 

$ tree lib/proto/build/intermediates/java_doc_dir/release   
lib/proto/build/intermediates/java_doc_dir/release

0 directories, 0 files


$ ./gradlew :lib:proto:sourceReleaseJar

$ unzip -t lib/proto/build/intermediates/source_jar/release/out.jar
