Description
Please describe your requested enhancement. Good feature requests will solve common problems or enable new use cases.
What you would like to accomplish:
User has requested to make the Google Cloud managed notebooks with “DataProc Hub” environment available at the us-east and us-west regions [1] just like the User-managed notebooks locations.
How this might work:
This will allow users to create the Google Cloud managed notebooks with “DataProc Hub” environment at their desired regions beside the present only us-central1 region which is available right now.
If applicable, reasons why alternative solutions are not sufficient:
User was trying to create user managed notebook with “DataProc Hub” environment to have a shared dataproc cluster accessible from single-user VMs.
However, when they tried to create a new user-managed notebook [2] with “DataProc Hub” environment, the VM creation gets stuck at “Setting up Proxy to JupyterLab” stage.
In response to the above the user tried to create Google Cloud managed notebooks with “DataProc Hub” environment which is only available at the us-central1 region at the moment.
Other information (workarounds you have tried, documentation consulted, etc):
User-managed notebook means it exists in user's project as a simple GCE VM, which is at present supported by multiple regions [1].
Where as Google Cloudmanaged notebook requires specific Google Cloud Platform tenant project setup/networking.
