Verizon pixel 6 pro using a macbook pro and imac both updated to v12.2 and chrome v98.0.4758.80.
Fastbootd (not fastboot) I can at least get it to download but it won't install. Pretty sure the website for this is the issue, when it checks the state your device is in, it's looking for the wrong state or something.
Now would be a great time to chime in Google support/techs.
In console I can see "compiled_en.js:1767 Fastboot command (oem udfps get-cal-url) failed: 'Unknown OEM command'" but I have no idea what this means. I'd presume the code to do the install is bad.

I tried:
1) Factory reset ->Same error message as above
2)
After starting the Pixel 6 in fastboot mode and connecting to the computer, at the step "Downloading", I get the error message
-> "Couldn't find the unique calibration software for this device"
ac...@gmail.com <ac...@gmail.com> #5
Seems like the tool is running
fastboot oem udfps get-cal-url
The url returned by that command is then invalid
When you try to visit the url returned, it's no longer up. My guess is that the url moved somewhere else on Google servers but fastboot reports the original url.
If anyone is able to get the .signed.cal file it's as simple as fastboot oem udfps apply-cal <path-to-file>
For those suggesting fastbootd, that doesn't reply to any oem commands. Not exactly sure how it even passes the download phase

During the first step for the installation, the page attempts to download a file using a GET command using the following path.
If it fails with a 404 error (file does not exist), it tries again using uppercase letters and gets the same error. This is easily visible in the network tab.
The JavaScript looks for errors during download. If it gets a 404 error it always displays the message "Couldn't find the unique calibration software for this device"
I wasn't able to figure out where a41e001f3706fe is coming from. Perhaps it's an encoded OS version number. It will never work until that file exists. I'm thinking if the OS is downgraded on the phone to an older version (perhaps the first version that was released with the Pixel 6) it might change the file it's looking for to something that does exist.

ubreakifix said there are faulty screen units that doesn't recognize the tool.
You just need to go back where you get your screen replaced and ask to order another part.

I reached out to Google and have had ongoing communication with them about this issue and they offered the same "Hope the June update fixes it" nonsense. I pushed back multiple times, using this and multiple other posts and sources as citation for the problem. Showing them
Myself to Google:
"This has been a known issue on your end since November of 2021 (Information Here), how it hasn't been fixed by now or at the least have a timeline for repair that can be relayed to customers beyond "hope the next update addresses it". What kind of solution is that? There is documentation of it on a Google site as well (Here) and the issue appears to be that the file to calibrate my screens fingerprint sensor does not exist on your server (Proof also see attachment)
So the community has done the work for you, fixing the issue should not be guess work.
This is my 4th phone, I am frankly beyond tolerating guess work and "hope" so my accepted solutions are as followed in order of most preferred to least prefered:
1. Fix the issue that is causing this so I can calibrate the phone I have currently that *was* working fine.
2. Refund the cost of the device.
3. Replace the device with a BRAND NEW hardware kit in advance of my returning of the defective hardware. If this new device must be sent to a partner like UbreakIFix to accomplish said advance return, that is acceptable."
This was their response in its entirety:
"Hi XX
Thank you for contacting Google.
We understand your frustration about this concern. The option that we have is replacement or refund please choose which one would you like to use so that I can process your request.
I hope you understand.
We look forward to hearing from you."
So they completely opted out of anything to do with fixing the device I have in my hand which is my absolute preferred option. This is just sad honestly. I have owned every mainline Pixel since the 2xl, I am typing this from my Pixelbook while listening to music via my Pixel Buds. I have thousands in Google products, I have convinced my brother and mother to buy Pixel phones (5a and 4a respectively) and as a customer I feel incredibly let down. I knew this device would be more trouble than my 2xl, 3xl, or 4xl, I was aware it's Google's first inhouse chip and the issues that come with that. But 4 phones later, I'm done. My first 3 had terrible overheating issues that destroyed the battery life in hours, as well as the awful connectivity issues that caused it to disconnect all of the time. I finally get a great functioning device, and the screen goes funny, I go to a Google partner to deal with the issue and now I have a phone missing a feature that is vital to every day use, and a company basically telling me "sorry bro." Crazy. At this point I really don't even want another Pixel, or Android device in general and I never expected to feel that way. I fully expect I won't have a functional Pixel 6 until the Pixel 7 launches at this point.
Google, get it together or I will be using the refund you offered to unfortunately justify a change in ecosystem. I strongly recommend others having this issue opt for a refund as well. Maybe if enough people hit them in the wallet, this will resolve.

I just updated from Android 13 Beta 2 to Beta 3. The tool is working now.
Tool is very easy to use, but I somehow had to do it twice. Anyway happy it works for me.
Maybe others can try if the Android 12 June Feature Drop fixes it (
Other info: Did not wipe at any time, changed the screen while on 13 Beta 2, the fingerprint calibration failed with "unable to find unique software", update to Beta 3, tools works, but after one reboot, the fingerprint didn't. Second pass of the fingerprint calibration tool and reboot did make it work.

Browser tried for the file with uppercase and lowercase letters.
I would assume that when new version of android are built, they're either not building this software package, or they're not delivering the artifact it to the Google Cloud Storage Bucket.

So it's either non genuine, or screens provided for another region and it won't work I was told .
f....@gmail.com <f....@gmail.com> #79
The result from fastboot oem udfps get-cal-url
is tied to the display. I got a replacement display, installed that into my pixel 6 and installed the fingerprint sensor from my old display in the new display. I noticed that the fingerprint sensor wasn't working and when trying to calibrate it, got the same error as everybody else here ("Couldn't find unique software for this device"). I then installed my damaged display again and ran the tool again and then I could download the .signed.cal
file using the above command. Tried to install that file with my new display (using the fastboot
command line tool) but it gave me an error that the display serial number doesn't match up with the serial number from the cal file. So this is definitely a display issue and shouldn't be fixed by factory resets, Android updates, etc. My guess is that only genuine google displays have a .signed.cal
file hosted on the storage.googleapis.com/
domain.

Sydney , the calibration never worked, months later this display dropped
working, this time I ordered display from very reputable company in Sydney
who 100% claimed genuine displays..
This time the calibration worked ..
So it's definitely not genuine displays, I was also told it can be that the
display is genuine but is for a different region of devices

So I just got my screen replaced on my pixel 6 today by myself and was so excited to get back my phone. Everything works but the fingerprint.
The fingerprint calibration is such a headache because it's supposed to be a 1 2 3 easy steps but there's some extra steps you need to do.
This is how I made it to work:
1.Before you turn your phone off, go to the developer options and enable USB debugging.
2. Go here Get the Google USB Driver | Android Developers and download the google USB zip file (this is for windows BTW)
3. Unzip however you want it
4. Open the folder usb_Driver and rightclick "android_winusb" and install
5. To make sure it installed, connect your pixel (with USB debugging still enabled) to your PC and open "device manager". You should see "Android Devices > Android Composite ADB Interface".
6. Disconnect pixel from PC
7. Go here Google Fingerprint Calibration website and follow the instructions.
SHOULD WORK!
Good luck!
