But it shouldn't mean it will never happen. And it doesn't really matter if they were just merely tests because if Google already has the data in the queue it really interests me to see these images.
As new imagery continues to be released, I've been regularly checking the Bay to see if they became live. But certainly enough, this can take longer than I thought.

Great, why would Google also remove the Gen 4 imagery that was taken between March and September 2017 in areas outside the Bay? That's very heartbreaking. Only if they can come back... :'(
Description
Second written attempt failed, so I must try once last time. Again, I am NOT asking if the data exists on the API database.
The only probable reason why I'd like to see this data is... well, as some news sources stated upon the announcement of Gen 4, the images have fewer stitching/compositing errors and higher picture quality compared to its preceding generation, Gen 3 (introduced in 2010). And if these vehicles were seen and have captured imagery in 2016, then even if they were beta tested it would be possible for them to be published.
When Google announced Gen 4 in September 2017, only a few of these images were published in some cities, and the other captures taken between March and September weren't functional to be published until roughly 4 years later, when they were officially added alongside more 2021 imagery, because the vehicles were still more than likely being tested despite hitting by across other U.S. cities.
Without these images, the 2016 capture year would be left in an incomplete state, and as a result they'd become lost images. I honestly hate the fact that the whole year is entirely Gen 3, and that the Gen 4 data is hard to find to this day.
