Hello!

While Android 8 and newer (API 26+) supports variable fonts through the setFontVariationSettings method in the Typeface.Builder, and Google Fonts can serve variable fonts, the FontRequest and FontsContractCompat APIs don't support these.

Can you add support for variable fonts in it please?

If needed, I can suggest method signatures.
