Please try with a Qi certified wireless charger and let us know if it is still with the same issue.
Or is this issue happened right after a phone build update?

None of these options fixed the issue. Now I have a phone worth 1/3 of the price I paid for it and still getting the errors: Connected (Not Charging) and the red text Readjust Your Phone for Faster Charging.
No fast charging to be had. Takes hours and hours to get from 0 to 35-40. Seems to speed up after that but still crazy. Most nights, after an 8 hour sleep, my phone is only up to 70% or so.
Really sad.

Reboot the Pixel 4 and place it on my wireless recharge station (no recharge)
Remove my case and reboot (no recharge)
Boot in safe mode (no recharge)
Finally, add an external USB C wireless module and back on the wireless recharge station (Charging)
The stations are working fine but for a reason, the internal wireless stop working after the update.
How to test the internal wireless recharging unit?

I had perfect charging off my pixel gen 2 stand for exactly one month and all wireless charging died on march 14th. Phone is in flawless shape, never dropped, no cracks or dings, use a google case but no difference without a case. I was holding out on the March update to fix my problems but it did nothing.
I bought 3 pixel 6's for my family and mine is the only one with this problem. Really frustrated and would love to get this resolved. Will contact support tomorrow but hoping the turn around is fast as I can't be without my phone for work/life purposes.

The Pixel 6 used to charge normally on my older Samsung wireless charger and now it doesn't do anything (rebooting doesn't help either)
On the Pixel stand it's more of a coin flip if it works or not but it seems more to drain the battery than charge it.

1. Wireless charging worked normally until installation QPR3 update (now on QPR3 1.1, no improvement.) Current build is S3B1.220218.006
2. Problem has been verified with both a Pixel Stand 2 and a Belkin Qi charger (Belkin charger is marked as Google compatible.) There are no issues with wired charging.
3. On occasion the phone will charge wirelessly for a short period of time, then stop. At other times the phone will not charge at all. I have been unable to determine why wireless charging works on rare occasions, nor have I determined how to jog the unit to a working state.
4. In all cases the phone indicates that it is connected to a charger, and the charger indicates a phone is present. The charger and phone get warm but no charge current is flowing.
5. Restarting or power-cycling the phone does not cure the problem, nor does clearing the Pixel Stand 2 app cache or re-installing the app.
6. Note: Google CS has offered to RMA the charging stand and/or phone but since the problem exists with multiple charging stands and began with a specfic firmware update then it is obvioulsy unlikely to be a hardware issue. CS should be made aware of this issue so as to avoid unecessary RMAs for users reporting this problem.

1. very slowly, with the display turned off.
2. charges for only a few minutes or aborts while having display on and using google maps as navigation.
It has been tried without a case as well as with a case. All other devices like Iphone work fine on e.g. the Samsung Wireless Car Charger EP-H5300. Also the wall-chargers we have changed but nothing works.
Even in safe mode or after a factory reset, charging does not work properly. With the display off, the phone charges just max. 15-20% in one h, whereas the Iphone charges up to 55%.
And with active display while using it to navigate via Google Maps, the charging does not work at all. Initially, it is displayed, it would load but this is immediately discontinued after a few minutes. and replacing it on the charger wont led to continue the charging.
All Updates have been installed.

month later to the day (3-14) wireless completely died. I can't even
keep a connection long enough to install the Pixel Stand software.
Right now I have a $70 paper weight and every single other wireless
chargers don't work at all (multiple gen 1 pixel stands, an anker
charger and a anker battery pack with wireless charging top). I keep
waiting hoping it will be fixed via software. My phone I treat like a
baby, google case, never dropped. 2 other Pixel 6's in the house
(those preordered at launch) work fine on every wireless charger. Mine
was purchased as a Christmas gift 2 months later is the only one with
the problem. At this point just keep waiting? Do an RMA? What does
google recommend? I have used wireless charging for years and it sucks
to be back on a cable, first world problems I get it.
I have never done an RMA for a google product, will I be out of a
phone for days? This would hurt my work. Do you offer options to swap
it out and put my CC# and charge me if I don't send it back? I can't
go does without a phone.
Really frustrated, I have tried every fix in this thread, did the
power off past 50% thing, still nothing. I just want a fully working
phone. Please advise!

At 24% and the charge rate is slowly dropping. At 2050mA (case removed) and 3.967V giving a 7W charge (got up to 16Watts at best).

If I plug it in with the charge and cable for the pixel stand gen 2 I get <1000mA

New Pixel 6 Pro (two weeks old) - At first wireless charging worked fine for about a week or so. For the last week or so it stopped charging on the wireless device, no matter what the charge state of the battery. The light on the charger blinks indicating, according to the charger instructions, that there is an object between the charger and the phone. This shows even if the phone, without a case, is placed on the charger.
hi...@gmail.com <hi...@gmail.com> #148
I have tried it on the charger mode by leaving it off for 15+ minutes on the charger, this did not activate the charging mode and the wireless charger was just blinking its status LED as if a fault.
Plugging the P6P into the cable to acticate charger mode worked so I am fairly confident this is purely the device at fault as it still doesnt work on my other wireless charger but my old XIaomi phone does work.
Bug report generated:
This was affecting me in previous builds so its not just related to this very latest Quarterly beta release.
Ive tried disabling adaptive charging and in some rare scenarios it would actually attempt to charge for < minute but would stop again, couldnt reliably reproduce it but its currently 100% impossible to charge this wirelessly to anything useful.
The battery life of the 6P on mobile data is so bad I use wireless charging to keep it topped up during the day to make it, Its a significant feature I use so really want this resolved as a priorty bug.
Can someone at google confirm they have managed to replicate this? It seems really simple as it just doesnt work at all so I would hope since its affecting several people here that it should just be a case of putting a dev device on charger.

Definitely not doing this to charge my phone. How about a better solution from Not-the-Pixel-Support-team:

I have an old 10 watt micro-USB wall charger works 100% of the time as long as the phone is not warm to start the session. If to hot I get this message and once it cools down it begins to charge. 1. Deleted recently installed apps to determine if any 3rd party apps were causing this issue
2. Turned on safe mode (it actually charged wirelessly in safe mode briefly, but the issue came back in subsequent safe mode boots)
3. Factory reset the phone and tried it that way and issue came back
4. Turned off the phone and put it on the stand. Still wouldn't charge. Infact the phone display will show pulsating ring with charge percentage with no progress even after an hour on the stand.
5. Turned off adaptive charging without success with wireless charging
6. Factory reset the phone again with just the apps that google sent (didn't load any of the apps from my play store library), again no success with wireless charging.
Questions that doesn't make sense to me are the following:
1. If this was an hardware issue, why did the phone charge wirelessly without any flaws when I bought this back in Oct/Nov of 2021.
2. It continued to operate (charge wirelessly) with all the apps I had installed for severely months until recently (coincidently till recent security patch/updates)
3. Other phones that I have seem to work just fine when I put them on the Gen 2 stand (so the stand seem to operate just fine)
My personal conclusion is that something Google did with the security patch/updates seem to have broken the bluetooth radio/wireless charging and/or damaged some firmware related to wireless charging chip. Regardless, this is very frustrating that we spend $1000.00 and get a flagship phone and within few months we end with a hardware that is performing below par. It further infuriates me that having supported and continuing to stay with Google since their 1st gen Nexus phone and up until Pixel 6 pro now, somehow Google hasn't got its act together when it comes to putting together a strong hardware with a solid software. I sincerely hope Google fix this issue in short order before they loose a long term Google fan cub member like me.

After an update yesterday, wireless charging stopped working completely. I use it every day and it worked fine before.
I restarted again and it installed more updates, then it would work for a few seconds then the charger showed an error and it restarted.
It then cycled on and off every few seconds, for a while then just stopped charging again.
Later I stumbled across a forum where someone said it was because of adaptive charging and some dependency on alarms needing to be reset.
I thought "no way, how could that be related?"
But, just in case, today,
I went in and deleted all my alarms, in the built in clock app.
Then right away got a popup asking me to set a wake up and bed time, which I did.
I ignored the other options it presented, like setting a routine.
Immediately after that wireless charging started working.
So far it's working fine again, though it's only been a few hours.

All went well it was still charging during the config. All update done still charging wirelessly. I used it and charging wirelessly for 3-4 days. Yesterday, night I put the phone on my charger it show it start charging the phone became grey as usually and I when to bed... ( I use the wake alarm to wake up)
This morning the phone was at 13% so wireless was just dropping charge, no more wireless charging... I tried again my clock wireless charger and pixel stand 2 won't initiate charging.... Plug the phone no more time to test this morning...

I was testing this with my case off as cases can hold in a lot of heat on the phone. One work around solution i have found to work is the take off the case and have a fan pointed at the phone while its charging keeping the temp of the phone low. It is absurd that we would have to do this just to get wireless charging to work. I am assuming Google has changed something in the firmware with regards to temp/wireless charging throttling.
Not sure if there are more and more people each day with this issue as we are starting to get into warmer temps and ambient air temps are rising.
SO google needs to adjust this and fix this ASAP so I don't have to have a fan blowing on my phone just to use a main feature of this phone.

Ahh..I see...with Wired charging the phone will continue to charge even when battery temp is >40C but it might get throttled to a lower current draw. NO ISSUES with WIRED charge with heat, just with Wireless.
Adaptive charge doesn't work at all neither with WIRED or WIRELESS.
Also: i switched to Android 12 Stable June, Then Android13 Beta, Factory resetted 2 times the phone without restoring anything. Still on Android 13 Beta 3.
With all the certified Qi charger i have and many different chargers the phone does and did this (when on 12 Beta and even 12 Stable) , in order:
1)I Put the phone to charge on Wireless charger when i'm going to sleep around 0:00 to 2:00AM alarm clock is set to 8:30 (tried to reset clock app too)
2) The phone start to charge, then during night around 60ish % overheats A LOT, then stop charging but it stays overheated finding my device at like 40+ degrees Celsius.
3) Have to remove the phone from wireless charger
Can't RMA since it's the ONLY phone i have.
It's FOR SURE software related. Day before totally fine and cool, the day after something updated and the phone starts to overheat during Wireless charge.
st...@gmail.com <st...@gmail.com> #273
Is it possible to downgrade the software to a version that we know worked for each of our phones? There has to be a repository of release versions somewhere and a way to load them onto the phone, right? At this point I'd rather have wireless charging working again instead of whatever new features/security updates have been released since March...
It was working perfectly for my Pixel 4XL until the March update when it literally stopped charging overnight (pretty sure that was when Adaptive Battery was installed on my phone... coincidence?).
I'd prefer not to RMA my phone since I rely on it for work... I've owned Pixel phones since the 2nd gen and have been very happy with them, but if this issue isn't fixed by the next software update I'll have to resort to upgrading to an iPhone or a Samsung...
5+ months without fixing a standard feature is ridiculous, especially for a major flagship phone from one of the biggest tech companies in the world... If any of the engineers on my team let something like this slip through the cracks for this length of time they would be unemployed...

Please make sure the device battery level is 80% or lower. If not, please discharge this level or lower.
Verify that the device does not feel hot to touch.
Ensure the wireless charger is plugged in and is working normally.
Power off the Pixel.
Place the Pixel onto the wireless charger.
The device will boot and start the off-mode charging. You should notice the "starburst" animation as it charges, which also shows the battery level.
Tap lightly on the power button to check battery level. You should see the Starburst animation for a few cycles and then the screen will turn off on its own.

By chance I tried a third or maybe forth usb power supply for my wireless charger and the issue seems to have mostly gone away. This was never a problem before, and the power unit that I was using had worked fine for over a year, until an update to the phone in June.
I tried a couple power bricks before with no change in the behavior (of charging for a few seconds, erroring, turning charging off, then starting to charge again, then repeating, sometimes for up to an hour before it will charge, until i move it, then starts over).
This time, it charges normally, so far, about four out of five times or better.
The improvement was a particular power supply, the other ones still don't work at all.
I don't know yet what is different about the power supply, but it is some random cheap one not special that I know of.
I also had an improvement, early on ,messing with the adaptive charging settings and schedule, but that was partial and temporary.
mf...@gmail.com <mf...@gmail.com> #297
Have not had a recurrence of the issue since the update. I do now see a
message for limited charging when certain conditions are met that I can
dismiss to resume charging so I am not sure if there was some broken or
improperly partially pushed feature that caused some of the issues.

Something in the Adaptive Charging/Battery feature release destroyed these phones... It's amazing to me that Google engineers still haven't figured out a fix, if they've even tried...
The rumored Pixel 7 Ultra was sounding like a good upgrade to hold out for, but with these charging issues happening on the current flagship models I think I'm leaning toward the next gen Samsung or Apple devices instead...
Extremely disappointed with the Pixel team.

For those who are saying that hopefully the pixel 7 will fix this issue, why would you ever consider buying another google product after this? Google doesn't care, and won't care until profits are down, or a large enough percentage of users have issues. Google only cares about the profit and selling your data. We can do better.
With all that being said, when Android 13 rolls out and they have a huge increase in issues with wireless charging on both models then maybe this issue will get fixed but I am not holding my breath. This is the last Google product I will ever buy, you all should do the same.

4th update... possible sign of hope...?
TLDR backstory: After the March update my 4XL started giving me the "Connected, not charging" error, then since April the phone completely stopped responding to all wireless chargers, regardless of temperature, battery level, power state, etc..
Today I tested putting the phone on my wireless chargers upside down (screen facing charger). Somehow the chargers and phone seem to recognize each other because I get the following results:
- Pixel Stand - soft, repetitive clicking noise but no white LED light or charge
- Samsung Pad - LED ring cycles through different colors, indicating device is recognized but can't be charged
- Elobeth Charger Station (with Qi/Garmin/Type C) - LED light blinks red, indicating device is recognized but can't be charged
To me this means it is not a hardware issue. Something in the software is preventing the phones from connecting/charging properly, and it all started when the new Adaptive Battery/Charging features were released. Now with the Android 13 release it seems the issue has spread to even more devices.
I think the best hope we have for this issue being fixed is if Google rolls back those adaptive features, then pray there is no permanent hardware damage to the charging system caused by those software updates (destroyed coil/sensors due to overheating, etc.).

I contacted support, and after a lot of back and forth, the solution they offered was to extend my warranty and repair my phone.
They don't seem to understand that a physical repair won't fix the problem if the issue is with the new OS software.
They asked me for my IMEI number and checked whether I was eligible for such a warranty extension, which I was.
Here's the thing, it feels sketchy to me that they're offering that solution like they know specific devices were bricked after the OS upgrade, and just by replacing the bricked hardware with - a possibly newer - hardware, the issue may be fixed. It seems to me they know about this issue, but they're trying to hide it or minimize it or prevent class legal action against them... Or something like that

I had the issue a few months ago, then it went away. Now it's come back again. Restarting the phone makes no difference. Safe mode makes no difference. Adaptive charging off makes no difference. However if I switch the phone off completely and place on a wireless charging stand, it charges! Some Pixel phones may charge from a "PD" power port. Most of these chargers appear to be USB-C only. No USB-A connectors widely available yet.
I'm still using a dumb charger without integrated circuitry built in like QC3 has, and PD probably has to facilitate the fast charging cycle.
With a dumb adapter, devoid of the integrated circuitry, I'm staying charged all the time and the phone and battery never get hot.
QC3 fast charging and the heat may have been the reason my first Pixel 4 XL's battery turned into a balloon, pushing the back case clean off.
I think I'll stick with "dumb" power even if Android and Google fix the problem. I just leave the phone on the stand most of the time and it stays charged and never gets hot.
I'll take slow charge any day instead of cooking the battery. At least Pixel 4 XL has a removable BACK to access the battery and change it. Most models require screen removal and that can be a nightmare.

From what I can tell from a third party app I have for battery health, it looks like the charger is either a) negotiating really low speeds, or b) not negotiating at all. I can sometimes get it to charge at ~2.5W, but that's the best that I have seen, and only happens after a fresh Safe Mode reset. Usually the charging is actually at negative watts, causing my phone to discharge faster than if it was not on the charger. This is what leads me to believe there is a negotiation issue.
My phone is not overheating, or too hot when starting, so temperature is not the cause. The charger works fine with other devices, so it is not the charger (this is what I originally though back in March when the issue first appeared, so I bought a new charger). I am up to take on all apps and software (as far as I can be without sideloading), so it is not missing a patch.

Looks like this software bug is causing the battery to expand over time if you try to charge wirelessly... Such a shame because my Pixel 4XL has been in perfect condition for the entire 3 years of ownership until this wireless charging bug destroyed it. Since my phone was out of warranty my only option was to upgrade to a new phone (iPhone 14 Pro Max), which has been a huge inconvenience and unplanned expense during a tight holiday season.
Words can't describe how disappointed I am in the Pixel engineering team for allowing this issue to happen, and then completely ignoring it to the point where loyal customers like me were forced to take their business elsewhere. I would have purchased the new Pixel 7 Pro, but there are reports of those having the same issue.
my...@gmail.com <my...@gmail.com> #508
The battery expansion was inevitable regardless of what software was running on the phone at the time. It's caused by slight physical imperfections inside the battery when it's produced that eventually creates off-gas, which is why the battery inflates. No software will cause the battery to off-gas.
I'm all for hounding Google about the problem at hand with wireless charging but let's not start attributing all of the Pixel's problems to this software bug. Please?

I learned, again, that I can not rely on my device by it not charging and shutting down in the middle of the night and then failing to alarm in the morning as it sat there on the pixel stand powered down.
If the device ever reboots, this bug shows up again; wireless charging stops working until we work around the bug with a safe mode restart and a wireless charging cycle/verification. I have to restart it in safe mode, set it on the pixel stand to charge, confirm that it is working, and then reboot it normally. Following this procedure fixes wireless charging temporarily; until the next reboot.
Google, this issue needs escalation to a higher level.
As intended, many of us rely on our devices to manage our daily lives.
Many use their device's alarm functions, as designed (see androids bedtime schedule), to start their workday on time.
Nearly everyone uses their device and a calendar to schedule events, some of which are critical.
It is likely a valid argument that Google has created a life safety communications system with the addition of, and customer reliance on, features such as emergency notification, 'safety and emergency' functions, emergency SOS, medical information, car crash detection, and related.
We can not safely rely on any of that if the device randomly fails one of its most basic functions and charge the battery as expected.

I have had the same issue since Android13 in October on my Pixel 4XL....... there seems to be no response or even concern from Google on this, and it appears I am not the only person looking at new device from other than Google (as this seems to be moving up the device line).......
Very disappointing to be mild...... frustrated and annoyed in reality. I would highly recommend Google phones.......... Until Now!
So, looking at 1+ / Nothing / Apple as a replacement of what would be a perfectly good phone. If Google had not destroyed the charging.

This seems to be a much more widespread problem than Google cares to admit. And with that, they have pretty much lost another customer after having previously owned two pixel devices.

I expect a solution, it cannot be that a working feature becomes unusable because of an update and then doesn't get fixed because of end of support half year later...
Looking forward to your answer

This problem is software related, you where aware before deploying OS13, the OS13 deplyment broke this functionality. 4XL phones charge fine when turned off and when on safe mode but NOT when boot normally. This is with 3rd party charges that charge other phone versions like the 3 and 5 as examples. What's the solution? Please advise.

I have a pair of "Yootech LX3-N" wireless chargers, one powered off the block and cable that came with my device. The other off a cable from my old P2XL from a laptop docking station. Both previously worked flawlessly. Now, they charge rarely, if at all, and sometimes will have my phone report a message to realign for charging to continue. Furthermore, both chargers still correctly charge my work phone, an iPhone 11.
There was a short time when placing my device on my Taotronics TT-DL036 would cause my device to indicate that adaptive charging would ensure it was charged by my morning alarm, but this was inconsistent at best.
