Summary

It would be helpful if gVNIC driver deliver more metrics for example in_allowance_exceeded out_allowance_exceeded. This will allow customers to publish these metrics in monitoring and create alarm in case VMs hitting egress/imgress limits

What you expected to happen

when running this command on a VM with gVNIC installed

ethtool -S eth0

It should deliver following metrics

bw_in_allowance_exceeded: 0
bw_out_allowance_exceeded: 0
pps_allowance_exceeded: 0
conntrack_allowance_exceeded: 0
linklocal_allowance_exceeded: 0

If applicable, reasons why alternative solutions are not sufficient

Currently customer has to look in documentation to find egress limit for their respective VM size and manually create alarms if they are running hitting the limit
