What you would like to accomplish:

Show expanded results in BigQuery Cloud Console for an aggregate query.

How this might work:

In the default query result from the BigQuery Cloud Console, the user must expand each result individually if the query contains an ARRAY_AGG() function since there is no option to display them all simultaneously at first glance. To reproduce the issue, one can execute the following queries in BigQuery Cloud Console:

CREATE TABLE `X` (
  name STRING,
  type STRING,
  creationTime INT,
  `desc` STRING
);

insert into `X` (name,type,creationTime,`desc`) values ("entry1", "a", 25, "a");
insert into `X` (name,type,creationTime,`desc`) values ("entry2", "a", 25, "a");
select creationTime, array_agg(name) as names from `X` group by creationTime;

You will need to manually click on each row to see the results. If the ‘Disable Editor Tab’ option is selected, the results are displayed at first glance in the ‘select’ statement.

I would like to have an option to display the aggregated results at first glance without the need to expand the results individually.

If applicable, reasons why alternative solutions are not sufficient:

The ‘Disable Editor Tab’ option will not be available after March 2022.

The BigQuery team is aware of this feature request. At the moment there is no ETA nor implementation guarantee, further updates should happen through this thread.
