Also reporting devices weirdly, sometimes it's 100% desktop, then it's 100% mobile and so on.
Works fine in the new GA i think.

1. We have two independent properties, 1 appears to be working fine linked to our testing website - 2 had all it's traffic drop off from filtered views and most from unfiltered views for our production website
2. Our Google Ads are showing a complete drop off of conversion tracking
3. Our site traffic and sales are ok - verified through other means
4. Have confirmed requests for pageviews are firing and returning 200 responses
5. Have debugged Google Tag Manager on our site
6. Have debugged Google Analytics on our site
We are at a loss - nothing changed on our end, anywhere. Reporting just suddenly started dropping off and is now not reporting at all for our filtered views.

We are in Madrid (Spain) and we lost the analytics metrics yesterday. Today the measurements have been restored and we can confirm that the traffic is correct and responds to our usual volume (approximately 300 concurrent users at this time). We have two properties registered on the same website and both measure exactly the same.
I hope that other users can confirm the restoration of the service.
Thank you all the supplied info updates from this issue.

We found all reporting stopped at midnight on the 6th of April 2022 and had been acting skewy for real-time data from 3pm that day, and our account change history shows nothing happening until we started trying to found out what was wrong.
However reviewing the filters in detail and removing them one by one, we found a specific Include Filter for IP addresses was active when it shouldn't have been.
We removed the Filter and it's fixed. I'd love to say user error but again - there is nothing in our account change history and no one in the company has changed this. To happen at midnight with no change entry seems like something has applied it automatically.

I chatted with support tonight and they told us that our tags were broken and that the issue had been resolved. They booked me an appointment with their tag team for next Wednesday. We have 2 news sites with thousands of visitors in real time, and the real time view shows anything for more than a week.
The only metric that seems reliable is in the real time per source, in the number written small "total metric". But all the other numbers are wrong, way below reality.
Let's hope that Google solves this problem quickly, because real time is our compass for our editorial line.

1. This issue with wildly incorrect real time date is NOT going to be fixed in UA, as the product is being depricated next year.
2. The official position of Google is to move to GA4, where the data is "the most accurate"
3. There is no similar real-time "right now" feature in GA4, just a figure for the last 30 minutes.
3. GA4 doesn't currently work with AMP.
If those positions are correct, then unfortunately we have no choice but to look for an alternative, at least until GA4 works as well for publishing/news websites as UA did until last month.
ag...@gmail.com <ag...@gmail.com> #302
I'm writing from Argentina where I've identified a weird pattern in how bad the real time metrics are popping up.
During most of the weekend and late at night I see numbers that look correct (in our case, thousands of users, we are a large publisher). And in the first part of the morning until around, say, 1130am, it seems to work well on our "global" view, where we consolidate all our pages. Yet, from around 1130am to later a night, maybe 1130pm, it completely breaks down. And then it comes back.
It would suggest that it breaks during peak usage hours. Not sure why. Anybody else seeing that?

As per our team, the Universal Analytics Real time reports can show low user counts on initial page load. We recommend waiting a few minutes to see accurate numbers in UA Real time reports.

Hi Kevin, before we migrate our properties away from Google Analytics completely, I just want to be completely clear on the Google position on this issue, which has been ongoing for the best part of a month now:

Since it is obvious there is not intention this issue to be fixed and GA4 real-time does not have the same metrics as UA, we are forced to switch to alternative solution.

the 3 alternatives listed here are Smartocto, Chartbeat, and Marfeel.
I'm currently trying Marfeel because is the only one that has a lite version for free. So far it has amazed me, I'm now using the 15 days trial and I'm considering moving to marfeel instead of GA4 for everything, not just real-time. I have 200-250M monthly pageviews and the amount of hidden information that I'm getting is crazy.

GA4 is not what we want. I mean, if you want to force us to change to this platform you will lose a lot of users. We need REAL TIME analytics, universal is doing amazing with it.
I don't know why you want to change us to G4A, we will finish deleting Analytics from our sites. As we know this is free, why should we use this if this doesnt work for us??
It's just an "accurate information" that is not too accurate. Why do I need 30 minutes to see if a real time post was a success?? I mean, I have PUSH NOTIFICATIONS, and I like to see how many people are visiting my last push in REAL TIME, don't want to wait 30 minutes for it and see just the 6 most visited posts in the last 30 minutes, I need REAL TIME being REAL TIME.
Please, consider this suggestion to avoid a losing a lot of users.
Thank you, Jordan.

Hi All,
I can confirm that GA4 realtime report doesn't have a "right now" only feature. It's intended to show values for data collected over the last 30 minutes as you can see from this

Why are you circling on this? It's not too hard to understand.
We respect the decisions Google made, we love the Universal Analytics, but sadly we don't like G4A, it's very bad for us, incomplete, weird, has functionalities we don't need, and also you did it small (I prefer to see my 20 most viewed post in realtime, not 6 in the last 30 minutes).
So, be clear, will you try to add these functionalities or do we need to move services? that's all. And sorry If I am a bit rude, I just need you to go straight to the point, to be clear.

The main problem that is forcing us to keep working with GA3, and many other companies, is the Real Time. Since many years ago, many companies relied on the real time panel, not to see some fancy numbers while congratulating themselves, they needed it for real time diagnostics. This is the key: real time is used for diagnostics and respond to problems quickly. By removing this feature many users will be forced to look other solutions.
GA3 Real time: Easy navigation: Countries, Content, Events, Conversions in real time. Events, content, conversions, countries can be filtered (clicked) easily and graphs display based on that filter. You can see events second by second for the last minute, and the last 30 minutes.
GA4 Real time: Small cards with even smaller graph by minute and can not be filtered in any way to see a specific event when happening. GA4 is based on events? Allow to filter us by events the real time then...
I suggest you to greatly improve GA4 real time.
We need it, everybody needs it.
Thanks
