As per https://crbug.com/chromium/1159587#c0 , it seems to be a feature request hence marking it 'Untriaged' and requesting someone from Dev to look into it.
Thanks.!
Thanks.!

This is something we’ve been thinking about. We do want to make DevTools more helpful w.r.t. “inactive” styles, i.e. declarations that are covered but still don’t have any effect due to other declarations or rules — like `left: 42px` on a statically positioned element.

Making this issue about the originally reported behavior, and filing https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=1178508 to track further improvements to “inactive” styles.

Description
I’m in a library module with a bunch of dependencies. When I build the module (via Build -> Make Module ‘blah’, or by clicking Build Refresh in the Compose preview pane), the Gradle build finishes in 9 seconds, but Android Studio’s UI shows that the build continues to run for longer, and it finishes after 30 seconds.
In the Build tab, I can see the log:
But in the left pane, where it shows a rich list of tasks being run, it’s very rapidly updating with the names of various tasks, even well after Gradle prints
BUILD SUCCESSFUL
. In the IDE’s Event Log, I seeGradle build finished in 30 s 196 ms
for the exact same build.Screen recording attached.
