I love the new staging area support for git, which is actually getting me away from using SourceTree. But in our project I have a prepare-commit-msg hook that adds some helpful text to the commit message and would like to see that supported for the commit message with staging support. So what I propose is that:

• the plugin check for the existence of prepare-commit-msg hook in the .git directory of the project
• if it exists then add a button above the commit message area that lets you run the hook manually (I am fine with it not being automatic) and replace the commit text with the result if successful.
