A short description of the request

Currently there is only one option to update project files using Google Apps Script REST API: https://developers.google.com/apps-script/api/reference/rest/v1/projects/updateContent

As noted in documentation:

This clears all the existing files in the project.

With real world development scripts it means any update to project requires deleting and uploading a lot of files - basically reuploading whole project at once, which is time consuming.

Request is simple: to add ability to update only selected file(s) in project via Google Apps Script REST API.

What is the purpose of this new feature?

To increase speed of updating project files via Google Apps Script REST API. To make development of Apps Script projects faster.
To allow for separation of concerns between teams in some project. Not all developers or teams should or need to see all the files in an application. But currently, if any team pushes to the app (using clasp for instance), it will overwrite the work of all other teams.

Particular user case is local development using clasp and updating project files when any change happens (using watcher clasp push -w), see https://github.com/google/clasp/issues/760
More info To allow for separation of files that require login credentials and files that don't. While not a perfect solution, in some simple projects, not all script developers can have access to the all the information. The owner of the google sheet may want to restrict access to the sheet itself or certain script files that contain sensitive information, while still allowing for other developers to work on non-sensitive scripts remotely through a clasp-enabled git project.

I think this is really useful if you want to develop a GAS webapp with clasp because pushing just modified files it's the only way to get the same update speed as coding in GAS editor. Specially for not proffessional users that need to see little changes very often. I'd like to ask for this feature again, please.

Indeed not practical to push all files with clasp push --watch
