A short description of the request:

A Google Calendar API for getting/setting/updating a user's Working Hours.

What is the purpose of this new feature?

Being able to programmatically view or update a user's Working hours.

With shift work, and more folks working from home, we need a way to dynamically view or update working hours. A user's working hours may be different every day/week/month. With an API we can programmatically get or update it.

What existing APIs would this affect?

None

What existing data does this use?

User's calendar data.

Please provide any additional information below.

Other feature requests were submitted for the same thing but they were closed. They had a lot of stars. Plus the work from home landscape has changed needs. As such, I am opening a new one in the hopes that Google will implement it.

Additionally, Google closed the above request stating:

Implementing this feature is currently not a priority. Therefore, I'll proceed to close this.

I have a few questions/comments on this:

• If enough users are asking for the feature, then why is it not a priority?
• Even if it is not a priority right now, why close the request? Leave it open so that it can be implemented when it can be a priority. If Google closes it then folks won't vote on it. But if Google leaves it open then folks can vote on it and Google will see much of a priority it is for their customers. Or is Google saying they don't care about customer needs?
