What type of Android issue is this? User Interface, Display, or Rendering issue

When did this happen?

What steps would let us observe this issue?
1. Set "screen timeout" to 15 seconds.
2. Set "Lock after screen timeout" to something > 0 seconds.
3. Turn on some form of AOD (always-on-display) in settings.
4. Rest a finger on the power button, so you could press it.
5. Let the screen turn off automatically and wait for the AOD to kick in.
6. After the AOD kicked in instantly press the power button.

What did you expect to happen?
I expected a very smooth animation that plays.

What actually happened?
There was a super subtle, harsh animation that didn't feel right. The animation should be WAY smoother.

How often has this happened?
Every time

What was the effect of this issue on your device usage, such as lost time or work?
None - device worked normally
