What type of Android issue is this? Slow Performance or Hang

What steps would let us observe this issue?
1. I press the power button to lock the phone. The display turns to the always on optic with black background and clock in the middle.
2. Problems only happens when there like a few minutes between locking the screen and trying to unlock it. Immediate unlock after locking does always work.
3. When I try to wake the phone and unlock the only way that currently works is to push the power button to activate the screen. It is not possible to touch the screen to active it nor is it possible to put my finger on the fingerprint scanner to instantly unlock. The always on screen does not react on any touch or gestures.

What did you expect to happen?
Phone unlocks respectively screen activates after touching the screen.

What actually happened?
The screen stays in always on mode and does only react when I press the power button. No interaction with touch or gestures at all.

None - device worked normally
