It looks like you are raising an issue as an Android user, rather than an Android Open Source Developer. Our Android Support team will be in contact with you shortly. In the meantime, here are helpful resources:

sh...@gmail.com <sh...@gmail.com> #4
Same problem 😭
cr...@gmail.com <cr...@gmail.com> #5
Google Pixel 4 XL user here - same issue as above. Below 40% battery means that activating any app will auto shutdown the phone and can only be restarted once plugged in to the charger.
ti...@gmail.com <ti...@gmail.com> #6
Same issue. Pixel 4. Was on Android 12 no issues; upgraded to 13 and phone will always die at 40%
jp...@gmail.com <jp...@gmail.com> #7
yeah mee too... factory reset didn't work at all
wg...@gmail.com <wg...@gmail.com> #8
Same issue here after updating. Currently have downgraded.
ah...@gmail.com <ah...@gmail.com> #9

le...@gmail.com <le...@gmail.com> #11
same issue here !
ti...@gmail.com <ti...@gmail.com> #12
it is software related. had battery replaced yesterday; charged to 100% and when it drains to 40% it shuts down again. will be unresponsive until plugged in; on bootup battery will read 30-50%.
vi...@google.com <vi...@google.com>
ka...@gmail.com <ka...@gmail.com> #13
Yes me too, 40% black screen- buttons unresponsive. need to place on a charger to get any response.
de...@gmail.com <de...@gmail.com> #14
When we should expect an update for this issue to be fixed? I have been monitoring it since I upgraded my P4XL to A13 and I can confirm it's not battery issue but the software itself. It will turn off suddenly when the battery status hits 40%, and can only be revived by plugging in charger. After plugging in, the batter status still showing 40% on the screen, that I could turn it back on by pressing the power button.
I have never had issue before I upgraded. FYI, I've also tried to wipe and reinstall back A13 but the issue persist.

Same issue. Had the battery replaced, but experience the exact same result... Phone dies at 40% battery. Please fix! This is my primary work phone!
st...@techport13.com <st...@techport13.com> #16
I can also confirm this was present in the A13 beta, and that downgrading to A12 fixed the issue. Upgrading to A13 stable reintroduced the problem.
be...@gmail.com <be...@gmail.com> #17
Same here, also confirming that downgrading to Android 12 fixes the issue..
l....@irq10.net <l....@irq10.net> #18
I cnfirm the problem on my Pixel 4 XL.
fo...@gmail.com <fo...@gmail.com> #19
I can re confirm this exact same issue on my pixel xl4. I've sent in my information from my phone already. no response. I will be downgrading to 12 as there doesn't appear to be a fix coming anytime soon
n....@gmail.com <n....@gmail.com> #20
I have the same issue, it shut down even there was enough battery and i cant turn it on anymore. i even replaced the battery but yet it dosent turn on. it happend immediatly after the android 13 upgrade/update.
I hope its not the same shady thing that apple used to do, to force people into new devices which would be a big thing for me. never again google phone/product.

n....@gmail.com <n....@gmail.com> #22
can i reset it the my device(pxl 4 xl) somehow without it being turned on?
de...@gmail.com <de...@gmail.com> #23
Hi #21, please plug your phone with power. Then, turn it on as usual by pressing the power button for few secs. I would advise you to downgrade to Android 12. I have downgraded my P4XL to Android 12 and there's no problem at all.
be...@gmail.com <be...@gmail.com> #24
Anybody here checked already if this week's update included a fix for this issue?
ti...@gmail.com <ti...@gmail.com> #25
October 2022 update has not fixed the issue.
Updated October 4. Battery still shutting down phone at 40% on the dot.
Extremely frustrating.

gr...@gmail.com <gr...@gmail.com> #28
Everyone who facing this issue please press "+1" button and ⭐ at the top of the article. As I know, this can help to push this report to Google
nt...@gmail.com <nt...@gmail.com> #29
Confirmed this is a bug, had a new battery a week before Android 13 update too, support staff confirmed it as a bug after getting in contact. Really do hope a fix is produced soon, I don't have the time or patience to figure out how to downgrade on a locked bootloader.

fa...@gmail.com <fa...@gmail.com> #39
I have experienced the same problem, I have pixel 4, after battery replacement running android 13 the phone shut down around 40%, the only way to bring it back to life is plug in the cable. THE ISSUE DISAPPEARED AFTER I DOWNGRADED TO LATEST ANDROID 12.
ra...@gmail.com <ra...@gmail.com> #40
Hi, any chance someone tried final update for Pixel 4 XL: Android 13, TP1A.221005.002.B2, Feb 2023? Is it solveing our battery problem?
af...@gmail.com <af...@gmail.com> #41
Nope, still not fixed on the February update. I even tired custom rom, custom kernel. Issues not solved.
to...@gmail.com <to...@gmail.com> #42
Same here. Only solution is downgrade to android 12.
Android 13 = shutdown at 40%
After downgrade to Android 12 = working perfectly
Android 13 = shutdown at 40%
After downgrade to Android 12 = working perfectly
nt...@gmail.com <nt...@gmail.com> #43
Full factory reset and this issue still persists, it is not a hardware fault as new battery has been installed to mitigate it being at fault.
ch...@gmail.com <ch...@gmail.com> #44
My 4xl auto shut down and restarted to recovery mood asking me for factory reset.
it...@gmail.com <it...@gmail.com> #45
Android 13 is still buggy on the Pixel 4. I updated today and it keeps dying at 40% battery. The saddest thing is that Google never satisfies us, nor does it say when it will be fixed.
DONT UPDATE.
DONT UPDATE.
jo...@gmail.com <jo...@gmail.com> #46
Seems like this is still a problem, I just posted in Googles support about this thing
mu...@gmail.com <mu...@gmail.com> #47
I'm tried install LineageOS 20 (20.0-20230625-nightly-coral-signed) - don't working.
And I'm tried install Android 13 from Pixel 4 (no XL) - problem still exists.
