Yes please :) Along with a more specific definition of how the Popular Times are determined (how much history? done by mobile device activity? check ins?)

Making popular times available by day of the week would be awesome

It already is Jeffrey, you can toggle by day on mobile or desktop

I also have this behaviour. To have the navigation working, Google Maps App needs to be open on the device.
I try to find a solution to open the app on the phone before asking to the CPTemplateApplicationScene to open Google Map. But iOS block opening an application from background state.
Also looking for a solution, right now we only use Apple Maps for the navigation.

@r22, I think Jeff is referring to the ability to split popular times by day of week in the information released by the API, not the currently existing web GUI.
Maybe the info appears as a nested object? e.g. "popular times" > "day of week" > "hour of day" > traffic count

Same here. I'm trying to start navigation with a universal link opened by an iOS shortcut, but all i get on my CarPlay is Google Maps popping up. Triggering the url more times after Google Maps is already shown on CarPlay does nothing either.

Same here...the Google Maps CarPlay app opens but the navigation is only shown if the iOS app is opened as well. This makes it almost unusable if the user wants to avoid distractions while driving

Would be extremely helpful to have access to this data directly via the API. Is it maybe available via another API?

No update on here for a while now... Any news on making this available ?

Any update?
Description
Our iOS App launches GoogleMaps for navigation purposes via the universal link
comgooglemaps://?daddr=$LATITUDE,$LONGITUDE&directionsmode=driving"
. This works fine on the phone. However when using this approach in CarPlay, the CarPlay GoogleMaps app does launch but without starting the navigation. This did in fact work in the past but not recently anymore.
We've also tested every single one of the other universal links mentioned onhttps://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/urls/ios-urlscheme . None of them seem to be doing anything else than just launching the CarPlay GoogleMaps app.
Is there an extra step that we have to take to get this to work in CarPlay?
