Hi!
Yes, the demo page I know already, but there is no option to let the video embed and load without loading Google Fonts.

Currently there's no parameter to support your concern. I'll share your concern with our internal team, however there's no guarantee that this will be implemented. Thanks

A workaround for this is to host the said fonts locally. Thanks
a....@hotmail.de <a....@hotmail.de> #6
If I host the fonts locally, an embedded video still loads the font from Google server. It is inside the video.

I'm another impacted developer in Germany. Our company does > 2€ billion yearly revenue and this problem may force us to move to another video provider.

Only solution would be to only load the iframe when all cookies are accepted

I have the same problem too.

This is an issue - in Germany even private persons get charges and warnings under General Data Protection Regulation - and the only ucrrent solution is to remove embedded videos.

Same thing here - we can choose either not using youtube-videos on our websites at all or to find a way to use them with self-hosted or standard-fonts. At least the nocookie-videos should offer this option now. We may not loose any time as there are new charges every day and handling these costs us hours and hours.

Same thing here I am in the process of removing all Youtube Videos on websites a lot of work. I will host videos locally. Loss for our youtube social media links but better than facing fines.

Does anyone have a solution for this?
It's really no fun expanding all YouTube videos just because external fonts are loaded on them.
Unfortunately, all website operators in Germany are obliged to prevent the loading of external scripts and fonts.
Otherwise you will get a warning very quickly

We have the same problem. Again a German onlineshop. We are now using an iframe blocker espacially designed for the embedded youtube videos. That solves the problem legally.
But we are pretty sure, that that costs on the side of the customers' journey. That can't be in the spirit of youtube...
Youtube, please advice!

Same problem here. Ignoring this issue is very dangerous of Google. The endanger German users to pay plenty of money if this problem is being exploited by greedy lawyers. Google, it's a massive issue here in Germany. Please do not ignore us.
Has anybody found a solution yet? We have built a website with "Elementor" and there seems to be no way to block iframes like Youtube's.

For me, the solution would currently be to install a two-click solution. So after the cookie banner again explicitly ask / inform that fonts are loaded.

If I host the Google fonts locally, will an embedded YouTube video use them, or still want to load the font from Google server?
mm...@gmail.com <mm...@gmail.com> #22
For me, the solution was to use a code snippet that caches the YouTube thumbnails locally (https://www.altmann.de/en/blog-en/code-snippet-gdpr-compliant-youtube-videos/ ). When the user clicks on these thumbnails, a new window opens showing the corresponding video directly on YouTube (new-window=1). This way, the website still looks the same as before and shows the YouTube thumbnail with the red play button, but there is absolutely no data transfer between the user and the YouTube servers on my website that I could be held responsible for. As for the data transfer in the newly opened browser window: YouTube is responsible for this.

So to be clear. EU forces this law up on website owners. Google does not provide a valid solution for their services, leaving website owners on its own legal minefield?
Can you please just provide a simple solution, you know that we get a lot of trouble because we can not control if fonts are loaded.
Anyone?

Terrible that Google can't provide a simple solution for this.

Considering testing facades and if that fails will proceed with blocking via cookie solution.

Might also just block all network connections with pattern [fonts.gstatic.com ].
The embed still works in lab tests

Facade application works in production environment (external google fonts not loaded on network until video is clicked)

Description
Please let me know how it is possible to embed youtube videos in a website without loading Google Fonts. In EU and especially in Germany ii is very complicated to let load Google Fonts from Google Servers. A German court decided that website owner have to host google fonts locally. But if a youtube video is embedded still because of the embedded video Google Fonts are loaded from Google Server.
Please let me know, if exist already a solution to embed youtube videos in a website without loading Google Fonts from Google servers or if not, I you could realize any setting / feature that that could be realized.
Best Regards from Germany
Alexander
