Some updates, as it seems this issue may be more widespread than I initially thought:
9to5google has written an article on this, with at least 6 different users in the article comments expressing that they too are seeing this issue on their P8Ps:https://9to5google.com/2023/10/16/pixel-8-pro-always-on-display-pink-text-issue/
Android Police has also reported on this, and they mentioned that members of their team are experiencing this problem to some extent on their P8P devices as well:https://www.androidpolice.com/pixel-8-pro-tinted-colors-always-on-screen-issue/
Finally, one person experiencing this issue on Reddit received a replacement device from Google that has the same problem but even worse:https://reddit.com/r/pixel_phones/s/Z8iAApiTKZ
Hopefully, this problem can be fixed or mitigated in software.

Thank you for reporting. My P8P is very obviously affected. As soon as it switches to 1Hz (observable by turning on refresh rate display in dev settings), the backlight brightens and half the screen turns pink. It is noticeable in a normally lit dim room, not just total darkness.
Clearly the panel can't handle the 1Hz refresh rate combined with a dim backlight. They seem to be accounting for this by brightening the backlight at 1Hz, but it clearly doesn't do the trick on so many panels. It's a shame because the only fix would be to raise either the brightness or the refresh rate, and both would negatively impact battery life. Total blunder to include 1Hz in the specs when clearly the panel isn't up to the task.

I just found this "IssueTracker."
I also experienced the pinkish-orange color at the top of the screen with the AOD.
I returned the phone.

Also on mine. Only really visible in dark at low AOD brightness, but then it's very noticeable, at right and bottom especially. Considering how hard it's to notice, It's say this is much me prevalent than it would seem.

Samsung S22 Ultra
Attached in this issue is a recording with Pixel 7 on Android 13 using the nRF Connect application to ensure that the BT device discovery mechanism in our mobile app is not the problem:
History/Timeline:
Android 13 version TP1A.220624.014 appears to prevent successful bluetooth setup of eero devices.
Android 13 version TP1A.220905.004 seems to have fixed this issue and appears to be available as an update to Google Pixel phones, but doesn't appear to be available as an update to many Samsung devices. This is a problem because many of our users have flagship Samsung devices like the Galaxy S22.
Android 13 version TQ1A.221205.011 appears to reliably break bluetooth setup of eero devices using both Google and Samsung Android devices. This is concerning because if this continues to repro consistently we could see eero setup failures increase as adoption of this Android 13 version increases.
